If you don’t mind doing something like that, start a new topic on the build. I’m going to dedicate a thread just to DIY builds. In order to keep that particular thread clear of chatter it would be best if I can link a thread dedicated to each build.

I apologize if that doesn’t make a lot of sense. But it will when I do it lol. It was requested by another member, and is a good idea if I can get it together correctly. The idea is for someone new to be able to go look at all the different builds and a summary of each, without having to scroll through a few thousand posts. If they have a question about a specific build they can follow to that thread.

Thanks for the chart, looks like the 660nm boost will be perfect with those.

I understand completely as I am trying to read through really long posts trying to figure out what’s what. I’ll make a thread on it with detailed pictures of the build and a detailed parts list so you can link to it. Again appreciate the help!

No problem. If you need some clarification or help with anything lemme know.

You know they make 2 sided thermal transfer tape you could use to mount strips too? Its probably not as good as a decent paste. But it’s better than nothing, which they would run perfectly fine. But will save you from drilling/tapping a shitload of holes

Great tip on the tape. That will let me reuse the extrusion if needed later on if I ever change sizes and save me a ton of time assembling. Thanks!

Now on to the next general question that hopefully a few people have run into before. I live in a hot, humid climate but we are finally getting to some reasonable daytime temps in the 80’s.

I had planned to grow in my detached 2 car garage. Ideally upstairs (large area with 9’ ceiling but unfinished and only a decorative vent on one end) but the temperature swing can be a lot during the day. Even with the heavier gorilla tent I’m not sure it’s going to shield the extreme swing in temps enough. Anyone grow upstairs in basically an uninsulated but floored attic?

My other option would be to build a room downstairs in the garage and insulate it to have a climate controlled room in a non climate controlled garage. With a 3x3 tent would you need to work all the way around the tent during grows or could I have back and sides walled in and just the front open?

Typical person without any handicaps could gen into and out of a 3x3 from single access point pretty easily.

As for someone that grew in attic in warm climate, @imSICKkid

The attic wasn’t terrible to do. I know it’s not ideal but its doable. I would however suggest a really good, stable strain so it can withstand some of those temp swings. White widow did really well for me.

Thanks. I’m doing auto’s white widow, Jack Herer and Girl Scout extreme. I’m thinking of basically building an insulated enclosure up there that I can better regulate the temperature.

It will be alot easier with winter coming.

Enjoying @imSICKkid’s journal, lot of great information in there and gives me some great ideas for my attic grow.

Cash payment for seeds was received last night so it’s now on, says they should be shipping soon! Time to get everything bought.

I ended up trying some CBD flowers yesterday too, really liked the Mighty vape I got to try from so I’m thinking one will be on order shortly. Just don’t enjoy the smoke from a joint, I’m old and all the years of woodworking dust did a number on my lungs.

Broke down today and purchased Bergmans Lab while I’m waiting for my seeds and parts to arrive. Thought maybe I could learn a few more things before I start. I have to say this forum and the people are great at helping you get started and the right parts you need but if you truly want to understand the ins and outs it’s worth upgrading.

The lab is perfect for a noob who’s never grown or someone that wants all the tips and tricks up front. Pictures are great and the subjects are well broken down and discussed. I’m enjoying reading through it but I think it may give me false confidence as now I want a full bubble bucket set up instead of just starting with the basics :joy::sunglasses:

What’s your opinion on the lab now that you have had it awhile?

@Oddjelly I think it’s worth the money if you have it to spend. While you can find most of the information over here hunting through different threads and grow journals it’s perfectly laid out step by step with pictures over there. Also when you want to reread something to make sure you got it right it’s easy to go back and find.

There also is a VIP support forum for growing issues. Lots of help over there but the folks here do a great job helping with issues it appears so not sure that’s a total selling point. Lots of information over there to read through in grow journals too. Hope that helps!

So I’ve been monitoring my garage attic for humidity/temp and it just doesn’t seem to be a good place to grow for my first try. Temps from 58-88 and humidity up and down too.

Decided to grow in an upstairs bedroom closet that’s not being used. Planning to cut a whole in ceiling and run exhaust into attic and out of my second floor bottom of roof soffit. This is on opposite side of house from neighbors and anyone visiting plus I will run a charcoal filter. Upstairs is a perfect 72 degrees with 50-60% humidity.

Only issue is this forces me into a 2x4 grow tent and I’ll need to redesign my light around that.

Whacha had for lighting before?

@PurpNGold74 I had planned on a 24”x26” Custom aluminum frame with 10 Samsung light strips and some HLG red strips. With the 2x4 tent I want to design a longer thinner light and grow 3 plants now.

Ahhh. Gotcha. Hmmm so now the 1180mms?

Ahhh. Gotcha. Hmmm so

I’ll have to lay it out and see, those would be good as I should be able to run 5 strips off the same LED controller as the 10 others.

My aluminum extrusion is only 1000mm long so I have to take a look and see what I can do.
