Meigs County Gold F2/ Lemon G Bx

Hey Guys!

This is my first attempt at growing for seeds!

I am venturing down the path of breeding my own crosses, and have selected two of Ohio’s Classics as my first run!

I will be using:

Meigs County Gold F2 from Copa

X

Lemon G Bx from Equilibrium

The end goal will be:

Meigs County Gold F3

&

Lemon Gold

I started with 5 of each variety, MCG in the black pots and Lemon G Bx in the tan pots.

Three days later i have one Lemon G bx that has broken soil so far! :sign_of_the_horns::partying_face:

Eventually i will be releasing my projects under:

Fresh Strings Genetics is a blend of all my worlds into one, my luthiery repair work, my love of growing, and my handle Strungthru.

I even have adverts for when i do release seeds!

This is not a competition post for ILGM, I got my start into this world from ILGM, and growing regular seeds from the grow off provided by ILGM, and it has opened my eyes to the possibilities of creation! I would not be where i am today if it were not for my friends on here and ILGM team!

I just want to document this grow in my grow logs! Join me as i venture into becoming a breeder! :sign_of_the_horns::partying_face::guitar::musical_notes:

Within 3-5 days is a great germ rate, for me atleast! We are setting at day 4!

These Lemon G Bx sprouts are vigorous!!

This was the first to sprout, a Lemon G Bx.

@merlin44 this is my first seed run! I hope all is well with you and the Wife!:sign_of_the_horns::guitar::musical_notes:

Im glad to here things are going Ok! Im excited to try my hand at breeding!

Im using two strains that both finish up outside in October, one in mid-October, and one early October. Im not an outdoor grower, so im not sure what that means for my indoor grow, but im hoping to have something that will be great for Zone 6 and be able to withstand after summer weather here in Ohio!

MCG is know for being grown outdoors in cornfields and under pine trees out of helicopter view.

I have a bunch of seeds from my own plants as well. What I am doing is not so much “breeding” as it is haphazard pollenization through negligence.

A million tons of successful vibes sent your way Sir @Strungthru :peace_symbol: :love_you_gesture:

All 10 are above ground!

I have one Lemon G that the starter leaves are a ball still (Center back pot), and have not opened. I also have one Meigs County Gold that has purple leaves this early (first black pot up top on the right). Not sure whats up there.

Just a quick photo from this morning. I fliped the lights from being 12/12 with those small plants in there, to 18/6 after i cut the small ones to leave just the project ones!

Thank you @merlin44 this has been the way i have been most comfortable starting seedling!

I like the larger pot compaired to the little 1x1 squares, because i feel like i drown the seed in the small ones. Atleast with the bigger pot, i feel like if i give them slightly to much water, the water will sink deeper in the soil, rather then sit around the area of the seed. I dont give them much water either. Just enough to moisten the soil around the seedling. I would say around an half shot glass full of water each during this stage, every night, 4 hours before lights off. I do the close to light off thing because i worry about the light evaporating the water thorughout the day if i do not do this. It may be a weird way of thinking about things, but its working for me so why change it now?:sign_of_the_horns::guitar::musical_notes:

Also during this stage, i just give them bottles of purified drinking water from Kroger. Its simpler then me using a cup or something, and im not spending a ton on distilled at this stage lol.

I should also make a note that i am growing these in my Soil Mixture again of:

●47.5% Espoma Orgainic Potting Mix
●47.5% Espoma Land and Sea Gourmet Compost
●2.5% Blood Meal
●2.5% Bone Meal

When i get to the point of 3 plants, they will be transfered to the 5 gallon fabric pots, and placed on AC Infinity Selfwatering base, where i will top water them with staight distilled water for almost 2 weeks, them transfer to distilled water with Fox Farm liquid Nutrients in the bases. 2 weeks from harvest, i will stip giving them liquid nutrients and begin just straight distilled water till harvest time!:axe::partying_face::guitar::musical_notes:

If it works, it isn’t weird at all. I am certain that many, if not most, people think that way that I grow is a bit weird. I don’t think that they think my results are all that weird.

We are looking great tonight, aside from the back Lemon G Bx.

It looks unhappy. Black stem, yellowish starter leaves. May be a goner.

That pink kush surprised the hell out of me last grow with surviving!
