Hi Tonya

Noice! Been seeing a lot of coco dominant mixes with mediums and am eager to give it a try in the future.

@Borderryan22, If you’re open to talking about factors unique to a grow-medium of mixed soil & coco (dominant), here are two things I’ve learned:

  1. In this medium, my plant prefers pH in the range 6.2-6.3 (Surprise!)
  2. I needed to switch to a ‘continuous flow’ technique for irrigating - as though irrigating soil. I did NOT like having the self-induced problems of coco hydrophobicity & channeling

Quick Cannabutter

This is the recipe I follow when I’ve accumulated a batch of trim. It’s a one-step process for decarbing & infusing. For big batches? MBM

If you haven’t seen it in my profile, flavor is my priority. Love starting my day with 1/2 teaspoon of this whipped budder !

Ingredients: Trim & butter (at a ratio of 1:1.5)

  • Chop trim
    - Today, I used 1/2 cup trim and 3/4 cup unsalted butter
  • Preheat oven to 225° F.
  • Melt/soften butter. Remove from microwave. Stir in the chopped trim
  • Pour mixture into 8" x 8" silicone pan. Cover loosely with foil
  • Bake 20 minutes. Stir.
  • Bake 20 minutes more. Remove from oven.
  • Cool 10 minutes before either straining or (my favorite) whipped in food processor

Start of Week 14

Tonya asks for privacy this week. No photos, please.
A recent curling of upper leaves (tacoing PLUS tip-lift) tells me she’d like the lights dimmed.

In the tent, temperatures are incrementally being cooled…humidity too. Be a good girl for me, Tonya. Show me some color !

She’s developing good aroma and her trim is starting to feel ‘gluey’. There’s still more trimming to do - with a goal of improving air-flow in the center of the canopy. Her trim accumulates fast… a harvest of leaves (decarbed, of course) before flowers get harvested.
