Making VAPE OIL

I’ve decarbed 1 oz of bud and have it soaking in Everclear as of 12/29. I’m wondering if I can (even now) warm it to ‘cook off’ the alcohol and proceed from there? This recipe says it’ll take 2+ weeks for this to be ready to use in a cartridge. Thank you.

You can always put your ticture in a silicone baking pan and blow a fan over it. This should cut the time down to a few days. I have seen the use of double boiler methods but be careful with heat source and very flammable vapor.
I only decarb for edibles, RSO. If I plan to smoke or vape the concentrate I extract without heat or decarbing the bud. Much nicer.

Also look up QWET. Better and quicker for making Vape oil.

I use a silicone pan and a fan, evaporates the alcohol off on a couple days.I use the QWET method, then add the cutter and mix well.

What cutters are you using?

The one I use is called Dab Labz, and the other one is some natural terpenes from fruit I can’t remember the name. I look for natural ingredients, no P.G. or V.G if possible.

I’ve yet to try bc of that reason. Read so many that says not to add this or that but nothing specifically claims a product is legit. The terpenes, I’ve seen a couple but nothing as far as a vg or pg substitute

Yes its a crapshoot.

So you use dab labz liquidizer and add terpenese. Blend well and walla

Exactly, and I add just enough to make it burn easily.Mine is a bit thicker than dispensary oils but pretty close.

I’ve already decarbed it. Does that mean it’s all ruined?

I also wonder - when the Everclear is squeezed out (if that’s the way you do it) would it be able to be reused? (The Everclear) for the next batch?

Yes, you can definitely reuse it

You would have to reclaim the everclear with some type of a distillation in order to recover it. Once you use a fan or time to evap the ethanol to extract your oil there is no getting it back.
As far as using decarbed flower for vape oil it should still give you your effects, it just tastes better uncooked.

The evaporated alcohol is the angels share.

I have read that some vape pens don’t get hot enough to fully decarb when vaping so it is better to decarb first. As @fast-grow said I have also read it tastes better not decarbed first.

I haven’t made vape oil yet but it’s next on my list

Does it give a ratio with the liquidizer? 1 gram of concentrate to X ml of liquidizer?

And how much terpes per gram/ml?

That I can answer. Very little or it can be overwhelming. Alot of ppl say just a drop, 2 at the most
