Making Concentrates from your grow

:joy::rofl::joy::rofl::joy: I literally hate doing it. I have a dedicated washer etc… Just seems like to much work.

I’ve pressed, done bubble hash and dry ice hash.

Once I got an alcohol extraction rig (Source Turbo) I haven’t looked back. Here’s why:

I can do a targeted extraction cold and pull the delicate oil and terpenes out of the flower to make dab oil, shatter or crumble. I can then reuse the plant material for a whole plant extraction and use for edibles. Far superior edibles to infusing as there is almost no chlorophyll to deal with. Plus it extracts virtually all goodness from the flower.

Something else for you to look at.

If that’s all you wanna do dry ice hash is fine for topping a bowl or making edibles. It’s just a night and day difference pressing ice water hash vs dry ice.

Personally I stick my ice water hash in the fridge for 4-5 days to dry out. Works great and preserves the color nicely.

I love my press! There is alot of disagreement about dry ice vs fresh frozen bubble for pressing… bottom line, both press into DELICIOUSLY intoxicating goo that is at least 40 bucks, and up, a gram at a dispo. Much like everything in this hobby initial cost for gear is high, but worth it. Sometimes whats best and what works for me are not always the same.
That being said, here is what I did…
I got a portable washing machine and bubble bags. Works great! Yummy hash fresh frozen! Pain in the ass in my tiny apartment. Ill never make bubble, here, again. EVER. Best made in a walk in freezer converted to a hash lab. Dry ice hash is good. Bubble is like Jessica Rabbit and dry ice is the chick who cosplays as Jessica Rabbit. Make sense? They both press into some great dabs!
As far as edibles go. Infusing oil is EASY and cheap. Machines to do it vary in cost but do make it even easier. Never used a source turbo but only hear good things.

Bottom line, IMO, its all relative!
All ways result in a liquid, goo, or otherwise that will mess you up and you will be happy with the outcome of your efforts.

@Myfriendis410 totally… If I had to go back and do it all over again ide get a source turbo with a vaccume chamber and a heat mat.
If I had more space and money ide get a column and run a BHO closed loop system or most ideally a setup with a de waxing column. Nitrogen would be sweet.

I used my press one time and went back to Ethanol.

I LOVE my Source Turbo! I use it probably 85% of the time but I do like experimenting and having different things. I have a great press and I really do have fun making bubble hash

If I’m spending money I don’t have I’d do a supercritical CO2 set up.

And a growing room setup on high pressure aeroponics… Ugh what I would do if I won the lotto would baffle most normal people’s minds but I would forever be in my happy place.

Time to buy a lotto ticket again I think just for the dream

Damn, dude! Sounds like you have the process down. As a newbie to actually growing and making this stuff (I’ve been a consumer most of my adult life), do you have a basic process that you go through? I’m just trying to find a way to make some Rosin and edibles with the least amount of waste possible.

When I run oil for edibles I try to do a first run for dabs, reuse the material for edibles, giving me two different oils. The first is a QWET (Quick Wash Ethanol Tincture) where the plant material is taken to -40F (or -40C, same temp) then mix solvent and flower and shake for ten minutes before extracting the solvent from the plant material and filtering before going into the Source. This gives me an oil with little to no wax and about 90% pure THC.

Here’s the result of the first wash: 5 grams of gucci oil.
