LST Beginner. Unsure of what I am doing

(First pic) Am I pulling the whole thing from the top and tying it down on the side of the pot? (Second and 3rd pic) or am I tying these branches down flat to the pot? Or do I do both? I have some soft gardening wire ready just nervous and not sure what I should do. Been looking at some other posts and info but still unsure with my plant structure. Sorry for the newb questions.

Yep, just bend her over and tie her down.

Yep yep, just like that:

Ok thanks. Super nervous cuz i don’t want to snap her in half lol. I’ll update once I brave it.

Its really that easy:grin::+1:. Once you have confidence in that and happy look up super cropping. It will allow you to bend at more radical angles. It also takes a flimsy stalk and turns it into a tree.

Even if you do, it’ll be alright. Have some aloe or raw honey and tape or twist ties on hand, just in case. If you do break anything, you can slather/bandage the wound. They’re very resilient plants.

One recommendation is to anchor the base of the plant opposite the direction you are bending it toward. I am picture guy and it is a whole lot easier showing you.
This is a WW auto on day 24. She is 8" tall untouched

The anchor goes to right
Here is the bend and tie down
I used a small tomato cage I cut down to fit the pot and to tie to.
Here an overall view
I use Rapid Clip to tie directly to the plant when I can. It is soft on the plant and does not cut into it. Also, I try to leave it a loose as possible to allow for growth.
Select the location on the plant of where you want to bend it. In my case there was large into node space that made it easy. Then determine the direction you want it to go. Note the direction of the stems just below the bend. I did not want the bend to be on top of either of these stems. This is an auto and those stems may be valuable later on. A photo in which to have time to grow, it may not have mattered because they would probably be removed anyway.
I will send this and send you another couple showing something else you may want to to.

Another thing I wanted to mention. Soften the stem where you are going to bend it. Give it massage between your thumb and forefinger. Up and down, roll it. Basically want to loosen the fibers so it doesn’t break. If it breaks (folds in half) then you just did you first super crop. Otherwise it is LST.

What you’re describing is more of a high stress training method, supercropping. Either will do the trick, but if they’re autos you want to consider the timing and recovery time and how it relates to your yield.

I don’t know if you considered topping her. If you are growing outside and just want the main colas - never mind. Otherwise, these are before and after pictures of her topped.

Thanks! Ton of great info and pics. I fimmed her a week and a half ago I believe and she recovered great.

Braved it and gave her a tie down. Hope I did ok. So you guys are saying to wrap a tie around the bottom to anchor the stem the opposite way of how I bent it?

Also, again sorry for the noob questions, do Move the led light closer now or leave it at what it was for the pre lst height

I would remove the leaves circles in red.
I think the next stems to tie down are those circled in yellow.
I would still tie off / anchor the base to the pot - blue
Did you ever say she is a photo or auto? Indoors under a light? What strain?
In a few days you will see the head of the apical stem start turning up toward the light. Because she is so stretched out, you may want to consider doing another 90% bend following the perimeter of the pot. Otherwise, all of the main grown will be outside the perimeter of the pot.
Easy way to tie to fabric pots is either with binder clips or punch holes through it.
You are committed. No turning back now. Well done

Honestly no clue on the strain. Got the seeds from my brother for free and was told it was “cookies” lol. I know that could mean many different strains still smh but they were free. I have another in seedling stage as well out of same batch. I’m doing a primary outdoor grow on balcony with led supplement. I started out with cfl to supplement and it stretched at the start. Once I got the led it’s been keeping bushy since the fim. Wanted to keep her down with some lst as well.

Here is how she is looking this morning after tying her down last night. When it is time for water and food tomorrow I am going to cut off those bottom leaves @beardless mentioned as well. I think I need to tighten the anchor a bit more as well.

She turned her head up in a hurry. I know you said you are not sure of the strain. Do you know if it is an autoflower??

I asked my brother he said he wasn’t sure lol. But this plant has reacted well to everything. Even the transplant a lot of dirt fell off and exposed a lot of roots and continued to do great hours after.

Now that those lower nodes are exposed to more light, they should start shooting up, too.

Here is her current look. After these pics I tightened up the anchor a little more. Should I bend her down more. Also, should I trim the circled leaves off to make room for the new growth that started? Is there anywhere else I should be tying down right now? Thanks for all the help everyone!!
