I just use a cheap ebay press, works great for pressing a few grams of bud at a time. Definitely has served its purpose well.

I was thinking about something cheap and simple but as it usually works out for me I would go cheap and then go back and spend again on something better quality.
Si I want to make sure I buy once not twice lol

This is what I ordered but it was defective so they are sending me a replacement. The hydronic jack wouldn’t hold pressure.

Thanks for the link I’m going to check it out.
I did speak to nicki yesterday about what press he went with and mentioned some Chinese knock offs and did say they were descent.

I’m gonna suggest alcohol extraction instead: more versatile, able to preferentially extract different oils, and gets nearly all of the goodies out of flower. Which doesn’t happen with a press.

I have a source turbo
Any links that can give me a guide on different techniques fir the different texture oils that I could make?

ExtractCraft has a website with a ‘kitchen’ for all sorts of extractions.

I use two products: dab oil and edibles. I do a wash after a 4 hour cool down with dry ice. Ten minutes max, save the leftover material and run again at simple freezer temps for 24 hours to use in cooking.

Get a vaccume chamber as well and a digital heat pad.

Depends on what final product one wants.
I got a rosin press because I don’t like the idea of solvents, therefore even solvent extraction is more efficient and has many more strengths like potency I felt it was not for me.

The idea of making really high quality live rosin is I think the best product that can be made.
Solvents are awesome but I worry abiut the long term effects of them, even more so without a vaccume oven

Now you’re getting too complicated for me. At this point I need someone to come over and hold my hand and walk me through all this. Vacuum chamber you say. My eyes just glazed over.

When a product is made with a solvent, like with a source, there is solvent leftover inside the product. Think about left over alcohol in your dabs, smoking alcohol is not ideal.
This is why federally regulated producers in Canada have to use crazy methods like nitrogen chambers and stuff. Nitrogen and co2 are innert gasses unlike butane or alcohol.
My knowledge is limited on this so I could be wrong I do know nitrogen and co2 are used with solvents but I think they can be used without as well… I can’t recall now. I’ll have to do some more digging.

So the way to get by this as a home grower is use the source turbo, get a vaccume chamber (120$) toss your product in the chamber and put it in a vaccume with a compressor. Then heat the bottom up with a digital heat pad. This will bubble the solvent out and suck it out.
