These plants are huge! Its my first scrog. I defoled and idk how much more i should remove. Theyve been vegging 12 weeks. Im flipping tonight. Do i keep weaving and tucking? How do i know when enoigh is enough? Theryre gonna stretch, do i keep prining? How much? Can the branches be saved?
Awesome,
I got lost in the jungle.
Beyond my experience, but your lights are to die for.
I wish I could do that much, someday.
You definitely have yer work cut out…
They’re probably gonna double in height with the stretch so another net may be needed. Nice room!
Tagging a scrog guru….@low any suggestions for this Growmie
That is a very impressive grow that you have… keep us posted on your grow…great growing
Wow that is a monster…That tent will be stuffed
Thanks @OGIncognito
Looks like an awesome plant. Too dense too many small branches. Any branch’s not reaching the net I’d cut, they won’t make the stretch. Defoliate a couple times per week until it’s clean, i defoliate heaviest in veg, and transition. But still defoliate through out flower when needed. you will need all the air flow you can get. I’d flip her. She’s gonna atleast double in size. Killer work. Just air flow, air flow, air flow. Lol.
This was a defoliation week ago. When I flipped they were at the wood frame net below. Indica plants. Knowing what to clip will be come more clear after you flip.
Appreciate that Grow Bro
Np, sorry I can’t help more. It’s kinda hard to explain defoliation.
that it is. Took me 2 years to get to a point that was not over or under defoliated. I still pluck along the way
That is one thick mass. I’m with Low, it is too thick. When I am thinning growth down to a manageable state I think about air movement and being able to see the floor or ceiling through the canopy. Also you need to think about where the plant will be in 2 or 3 weeks after flipping. You know it will stretch and grow significantly so you need to make room for that growth now. Not necessarily all growth but at least a good portion of it.
Thinned / defoliated before flipping
Ten days later. Mid stretch cleanup and supercropping
Needed to make space for the tops when I bend them over (supercrop)
It looks worse than it is
Eighteen days after flipping. She is unphased by the earlier defoliation and super cropping.
After thinning out / removing large fan leaves and unwanted bud sites
It is hard to see how much I removed. It was quite a bit
Throughout this time frame I would remove a few leaves and growth points I knew I would eventually want to be removed.
@DEEPDIVERDAVE thanks! Im not that experienced, i just “get it”. Plants have always fascinated me. For years i saved, and killed, tons of green things. Learning each time…thatd why i LOVE indoor hydro. Im the nurturing Goddess!!! As far as the scrogged plants, its only 2 plants in that scrog!!! I just kept topping and tried out FIMming! Thanks for noticing my lights…lol. , i love all my lights from HLG. That closet is 8x9x8 and im running 2 600s and a 200. I need another 600 but im good for this grow. I want to do a perpetual harvest, including my acid loving veggies, i javent figured out how to run the grows.
i just bought the 300Bspec for a veg tent!
My vote, too. Both for equipment and customer service.
My 350R was the first.
UVA-30, was second
The 260FRKit compliments the crew and fills the 4x4.
Damn shame to be going to Disney, then family, and Oregon July wedding.
Ready for fall grow, trust me.
Any HLG light is good, my bet.
Ask “Edward Scissorhands” for a demonstration.
Good cuttings to you.
YUP, seeing is believing. HLG sale on currently, but I don’t have budget until Oct.
Thank you! Im on day 5 after flip and ive thinned them a bit and ive been pruning fans. Idk when to stop tucking. They are drinking 8gish every 2 days. There are still sites coming up under, i wish i did the scrog bigger. I feel like there should be less vegetation but i dont want to stunt them or stop their process.
Omg, they grew so much! I know this is too dense! So pruning them down isnt going to slow their site production? One is way branchier, the runts. Thats the one i fimmed. The otger one i topped a few times but it produced less branchws. I didnt prune much ar all, i had 2 auots in there too, i just let it all grow. Now i feel like im gonna overprune bc there are ao many fans every day. They just keep moving the screen. Lol. Ive never scrogged or ran hydro. Its like a whole new world. Lol.
Should i keep tucking? Heres a top shot…
I pruned and tucked today and they are already pushing up. I just doent want to stress them or slow them. Im feeding grow nutes still. I did a flush and then a resevoir change yesterday. Using Connoissuer grow a and b, voodoo juice, cal mag and monster gro. Ppm at about 900. Should i wait til first signs of flower to start adding bloom nutes? IMO, hydroponics grow bigger plants. Ive got a tomato, cucumber and strawberry plant in there too.
Defol and drying are always so stressful…
So you let them grow quite a bit before supercropping? Im scared. Ive never done that either. I band and massage them but they vegged for so long they are thick and weaving. Do u revommend waiting until i can see what sites to weed out? Like once i can tell whats worth keeping? Im only on my 3 indoor grow. 2nd photo grow. All i did was outdoor autos up until last fall. .
