Log stems need help

Hey guys - so these are a week and a half old - why so tall is this normal ? I put them on a window sill during the day. I’m not sure what to do. I have a grow light I haven’t used because I read that just putting them on a window sill would be ok ( I am going to transplant them eventually ) but they seem frail help ? The grow light I got says 8 W but equivalent to 65 ??? Desperate thanks

Also the one lower left just finally broke out of shell seemed stuck do you think she will grow ?

They are stretching for the light. A 65w light isn’t sufficient. You’ll need ~200w of quality lighting per plant to flower them. Do you plan on putting them outside?

They are searching for more light. I have never found the window to give enough of the right kind of light. You can put a small stick next to them to keep them from falling over until you transplant them and then bury some of that long steam. They will be fine.:v:

Welcome to the community ! When time comes to transplant I recommend cannabis friendly soil. As mentioned backfill up on the stems couple inchs. Good luck :v:

Ok I do plan on putting them outside - so in the meantime I should get a light with the watts you suggested and that should be sufficient to go above all 4 of the little girls ?

Thank you so much I hope so I get all anxious - what soil do you suggest ? Also I’ve been reading about putting some fertilizer as well when I transplant them ?

Fox Farm, Black Magic, and Roots organics are all good cannabis soils. Stay away from anything from Scott’s, Miracle Grow, or Vigaro. Any product that says “Feeds for x months” won’t be a cannabis friendly soil.

Won’t be necessary if in a good cannabis soil. Most soils have sufficient nutes for 4 to 6 weeks from your last transplant. Adding nutes too early can burn them. The best way to manage feeding is to use a PPM meter to test runoff. Begin feeding when PPM dips below 1,000 for the first time.

Seedlings don’t require very much light when small like that.
To save a few $$ you can use a florescent shop light, will work for the 3 ish weeks or so they’ll be inside.
A few cfl bulbs 13 w or 23 w (actual draw ) will work too.

Just check it for the seed liner. A thin membrane that doesn’t always come fully off.
The 2 first leaves could be stuck together and may need a bit of help to remove.
If so then just mist with water to soften it a bit before trying to remove.
They’re pretty delicate at this stage so just be careful if you do have to lend an assist.

Welcome to the neighborhood
