Dumped all of my expired vitamins into my worm bin . It had to be 10 bottles, what a waste of money
You gotta throw that one in!
Just mix 19 cuft. Of coot’s soil mix. 135 pounds of vermicompost wasn’t a nuff. My back is hurting WTF
More goodies for my spring grow
5 mother plants and 8 seedlings
I will be setting up my green house tomorrow
Everyone, say to lower RH during flower. If your plant isn’t healthy, I agree. But if your grow is dialed in . I would keep the RH% on the high end of the suggested VPD chart for flower. Increase the air movement with extra fans ,set on low or medium
Just found this thread. Glad I did. I am also an organic grower. Love all things compost. Enjoyed the read. Thanks.
Do anyone do JMS , and use leaf mold
What I learned today, is about Hi-brix . I always thought hi-Brix was the amount of sugar in a liquid. ( partly bro science) And I also thought bugs ,viruses and Pm like to attack unhealthy pants . Partly true, but more to do with Brix levels in the plant. brix level is the percentage of solids present in the juice of a plant. These solids are mostly made up of sugar and minerals. Brix is the amount of light that refract through a liquid .The higher the brix the more nutrients that can be processed. Have you ever walked into your grow room and your plants are praying and have the waxy glow about them. . It’s because you are achieving Hi-brix. Your plant has everything it needs for leaf and root growth, and now is producing more wax and oils… ( giving you that nice smell and taste ). Producing what it needs to fight off bugs and other things. The alcohol is by- product of hi sugar levels . This will kill bugs also .Hi-Brix can be achieved through synthetic or Organic feeding, but is much easier through organic feeding with the help of microbes. I think I’m going to invest in a cheap $20 brix meter. Looks like a easy way of tracking plant health.
What is the best way to remove worms from their bin. What type of screen do I need. My worm bin is a 40 gal tote and it has to weigh 100lbs. Is the bin going to get lighter or heavier as the worms do their thing
@KoolHandLuke
Removing worms from the bin. I stir my bin with a shovel every weekend. During stirring,I see a lot of worms on the blade of the shovel, and or in the bin. I usually put on plastic gloves/latex/medical and manually move the worms to the pots/containers, along with the vermicompost… Yes,it does get heavy, but I have so many plants I deplete my supply and the bin gets light. I do enjoy seeing them convert the organic matter into black gold-but even then it can get heavy.
Oh,and I forgot to mention I shred a lot of paper-(I have a shredder),use toilet paper rolls, and sprinkle a little dirt in the bin.
SL out.
@Slug_Life , thank you for your help
@Im420 , Yes, my worms love it also. I see you processed the avocado inners.
Easier said than done. It’s hard to get enough liquid to get a reading.
Lay down 1/2 an avocado or 1/4 of a banana. Come back next day and harvest worms.
@AAA , thank you for the help
Of course my friend!
More bro Science, marijuana plants can not see green light. This is absolutely false ,in fact plants can see green light just as good as blue and red .this is from the guy NASA put in charge of studying the effect of different light spectrum when growing in space
I use raw goats milk as an organic antifungal agent against PM… and as an insecticide…against aphids
