Sooo… if i were to use aloe and honey with a little distilled water, blend it for a diy cloning gel, the honey would work against the cloning process? Oh lord

Never tried it but I have heard a few people suggest aloe alone. I think the answer to your question is probably yes but I haven’t heard of using honey in cloning good or bad. I was taught by a friend to cut with a very sharp blade 45 degrees angle cut on the stem, gently and barely scrape the outer layer of stem to an inch or so above the cut down towards the cut all the way around to make it easier for root forming and cut off any excess shoots between there and the top. Leaving one or two fan leaves. Cutting back the individual leaf fingers by 1/3 to 1/2 to reduce the clones water needs (bc it has no roots yet) and make them less top heavy. This all should happen quickly without rushing. Dip the cut into the cloning gel or aloe and stick it in the medium. Some use rock wool (usually for hydro methods) or rooting/ seedling plugs ( like root riot) or just a gentle or inert soil mix. The second two are the better choices for dirt in my opinion but rock wool would probably work in dirt, it’s just more commonly seen when the grow is going to be soilless. “That’s all I have to say about that “ hope that helped.

THANK YOU
So I’ll do was you’ve said. The cloning with honey probably was so that the plant wouldn’t get a uti

Np I don’t know for sure if it would prevent rooting and you may be good. I haven’t had a good success rate in my cloning attempts so far but I have mostly run autos so there have only been a couple opportunities with a photo on hand to get cuttings and practice. I’m one out of three attempts so far. It was one that I just jammed in a 3 gallon of used dirt and immediately wrote off ironically. Didn’t fuss over like previous attempt and pulled out of the soil to throw away two weeks later when I discovered that tiny little root “nodes” on the stem and jammed back in. Takes up to a month for the process to work. Keep at it :+1:

Good call. If you’re going to have seeds, at least let them mature so they’re worth something. :joy::sunglasses::metal:t2:

lol  I’m gonna get some clonex gel, some aloe Vera gel, and some aloe Vera and honey mix. We’ll see what happens :joy::rofl::smiling_face_with_tear::smiling_face_with_tear:

I really realized that you can get overwhelmed by so many options lol

I’ll do my original honey aloe distilled jump off and see if that works. If it’s doesn’t work then f that plant lol

Update time!

The Don - NYC Diesel
5 Weeks
I would note that I don’t believe the autos are as forgiving of the forest soil as the photos. So I used a different soil mix for J-Low.

Scout - GSC Auto 5 Weeks
Again I believe the soil has kept the autos from reaching their full potential.

Blusted - GG x Lemon Haze
4 Weeks

Bluster - GG x Lemon Haze
6 Weeks

Peachez (aka Scottie Peach) - Peach Maraschino
17 Weeks / 4 Weeks Flowering

Scottie P is fattening up nicely

They’re autos so all bets are off for size until they start flowering. Then you’ll be able to get a better idea on approximate size at harvest. When they’re small for their age generally it is going to be a small plant but I’ve been fooled a couple times. You never know with them

Scottie P is looking dangerous.:metal:t2:
Ok that’s good to know about the autos. I figured I was kinda gambling with them but if they end up digging in like the photos they should be rocking.

Seems like they are more sensitive than photos in the seeding stage and problems there seem to set the tone for future growth. The dinks I had last grow were the ones that had to be handled as sprouts repositioned or stuck shells/membranes followed by transplant shock and ph slightly off until I realized the meter was off. They still survived all that and produced nice buds, just not much.

Yeah those two have been moved inside and outside almost daily until this last week. So their environment has constantly been changing on top of the soil issue. I’m just dying to see the whole auto process. So far it’s definitely a trip compared to photos. I think with knowing what to expect and a little honing of my skills they can absolutely be great additions to the seasonal grow. I planted J-Low in a 5 or 6 gallon pot with more appropriate soil (I hope :joy:) and not moving it, so I think it will do much better. :sunglasses::+1:t2:

Plants looking awesome. Autos usually just need regular veg nutes and then once that charge is up, you can feed them Z flowering nutes.

Hope they come around as they should. They look good ! They ain’t stretch out like mine did lol :joy:

Damn I want some of Peachz lol :joy:

Thanks sis! I think some of the layering of different soils I did early on were a bit hot in spots and a bit dense. The autos seem to feel that more than the photos. I’m hoping the new batch I made for J-Low will be more agreeable to autos. The Don & Scout will be fine though they’re still pre-flowering and starting to stretch a little. Bluster is starting to get it on…so Blusted ain’t far behind. I think the two of them are gonna rock. My lord sis Peachez smells incredible.:sunglasses::metal:t2:

I used to put ocean forest ( hot) as the bottom 2/3 with a bottle in the center to create a hole when removed to fill with happy frog then continue filling with the frog. It was a tip I picked up reading @Nicky
when I was first starting. Soil brand doesn’t matter. Point is that mild soil core helps keep the taproot out of the hot soil too early better than just layering.

Hello everyone. New to the forum and was wondering if anyone has some tips on re-potting and pruning. In VA and this is green crack outdoor clone.

Welcome to the forum first.
:point_up_2:interesting, I’m in CVA and someone just offered me green crack (and blueberry) clones. Coincidence…probably
Looks really nice and healthy
