Thatās not entirely correct. It wasnāt until 2022 that the dea related the measurable thc content in seeds to the 2018 farm bill. But it did not specifically legalize cannabis seeds because dea guidance doesnāt make a law or legal precedent. For instance, if seeds were labeled as cannabis, you claimed they were cannabis, or they were found nearby to cannabis you could be arrested, charged, or held accountable to the full extent of local, state, or federal regulations regarding cannabis. Itās the same as weed being legal in a state like Illinois. You can go to a dispensary and buy flower, edibles, extracts, or whatever you desire. But if youāre caught with it in anything other than a container with a state tax stamp, you can and will be charged with illegal possession of cannabis.
Either way, I was bringing light to having ordered seeds since 2012 without issue. This legislation may impact the industry some but itās not going to eliminate our ability to get seeds.

Hopefully only some impact, if this whole debacle goes through.
It seems unclear how much it might be enforced going forward after December 11, what any potential punishments might be, and if people might not want to take the risks.
Again, I wouldnāt want to underestimate the current administration, they have a proven history of stifling individual freedoms and inflicting needless cruelty.
OK, Iāll stop there, lol.
I just want to folks here to take this seriously and not get hurt, should this all go through.
Hopefully, the new hemp rules will be removed, though wouldnāt they do that before the mid-terms, lol, if they werenāt serious about it.
Time will tell.

I live in a 100% illegal state even thca, delta, etc itās all illegal and I just ordered seeds and received them USPS no issues.
They only become illegal as @dbrn32 said when cultivated or around cultivation, equipment.

Correct, but they are trying to change that, thatās part of the whole point with their āhemp banā, besides the other points in the proposed ban.

I will be honest Iām not worried about them changing laws, discreet packaging and the ability to buy or make spray to get pollen. Many ways to not have to buy seeds anymore. They canāt stop everything. I personally have no problem with current administration.

They can all go to hell. Donāt trust any of em. Here though, itās ultra draconian and I want to say itās considered equal to the plant itās a cultivars of, for THC content. I just assumed that places wouldnāt ship here. I would hope the reschedule would be a positive sign but thereās so much caught up lobbyists and such that itās impossible to determine what theyāre up to. I know the weed myths vs alcohol facts make me realize that theyāre all being dishonest as one is so much more detrimental than the other. The duplicity of the politics is reprehensible.

I would agree with this statement if it was taken into consideration that the the same enforcement couldāve taken place before, during, and after the farm bill. They didnāt need this new bill to take a hard stand on cannabis.
Maybe a better way to convey what Iām trying to say is if you were afraid to grow weed until the 2022 guidance from the dea, you probably still shouldāve been afraid to grow weed.
Personally, I think fear mongering and blaming politicians isnāt helpful to the cause. 12 of the last 20 years were held by the other party and they didnāt do anything. The farm bill some are hopefully citing as their safe haven was bipartisan and signed into law by the same president. So if the farm bill is a stance and one believes itās providing useful protections, then the argument could be made that current president has done more for cannabis reform than any previous. For the record, I donāt believe the farm bill was a great thing for us but I donāt believe the 2026 agricultural appropriations act is a bad thing either. Just trying to provide a 10,000 foot overview based on the reading Iāve done.

On an interesting āothersideā note downunder pre COVID before our bio security double lock down, the only way to get seeds here was from overseas suppliers.
Now most from overseas will not ship here or guarantee arrival, though that has become a non issue as many local online services have opened to fill that void with local delivery avoiding all import restrictions.

My funeral will be held Friday at noon!
Whatever I caught between work and little man is taking everything I have.
I can barely swallow, raspy voice, fever, headache, body aches( head to toes), stuffy & runny nose, burning nostrils, agitated
I asked supervisor to remove me from general population today to spare anyone that hasnāt gotten sick.
Been 3 days of DayQuil and NyQuil, Tylenol, Tea.
Little man is getting better, just the mild lingering cough, glad I didnāt get that.
Iāll try to get a update on the plants tomorrow! No promises.
Off to bed I go!
