When looking to supplement with fluorescent, sometimes the 18-48" tube fixtures work a little better. They are usually a lot easier to mount and position than having several cords without any support. You can also usually find some led options that are a little more efficient. Otherwise I agree with pretty much everything the others have suggested.

Just thought I would throw it out there for all of you… but home depo sells 4 foot , 4 Bulb , t5ho fixtures for $90 bucks… just need to hook a pig tail to it for $10 bucks more… 
Anywhere else and it will cost you $250…
I have 3 of them and they kick a$$ in veg… plants are out of control…
