Let's talk DIY lights

Probably not. How big is the room?

Its a frame closet 2ft X 4ft wide 8ft tall.

You have enough in there to grow some weed. Unfortunately cfl’s just don’t have the efficacy that other sources do, which means it’s less light per watt.

I think if you tracked the luminous flux on a light that we would say is “good” for that space, it would be like 40,000 to 50,000 lumens.

Thanks, this is only my 3rd grow. The first one was ok, I was disappointed with the yeild though. I may have to go with some LEDs next time.

There’s not really a great hid alternative for that space. Perhaps 315 cmh, otherwise led is probably the way to go.

I would try cheating that a couple inches. And if they do well there, try a couple more.

I think you will thank yourself later. Give about 5ish days between lowering.

@dbrn32, I would like to ask for your help.

I see the QB288 boards are on sale at HLG(3500k). I want to build a 3x3 tent.

What would you suggest the ultimate light would be using the 288 boards? For veg and flower.

Could you put together a parts list?

Thank you in advance!

Thank you @dbrn32, I’ll start searching for the parts. Appreciate the help.

One more question, is there a one stop shop for most of the electronic goodies?

Thank you again.

Happy anniversary @Myfriendis410!

@kabongster yes we are absolutely waiting for them, impatiently too!

@AAA boards and heatsinks need to come from hlg or supplier. The driver you can get a lot of places, arrow electronics is usually my first stop. The aluminum I would probably source locally or from a vendor like grainge. And the rest of the stuff can be purchased on Amazon pretty cheap.
