Welcome to the club, LEDs created there own language. More people than I can count have posted these same problems. Still looking for the decoder for the LED language. Do ur homework when buying LED lighting, look far n wide for any info. u can dig up. Good Luck …
Check out my thread we talked all about the top lighting company’s and building your own lights too and some nutrients haha hence the topic but a lot of lighting scroll through! Good luck!
Best thing to do is pay more attention to light output than power consumed. Look for third party integrated sphere data if possible. If you see a light that claims to be good for a large space and it doesn’t cost much, probably a good sign to keep scrolling. There are exceptions, but you are usually going to get what you pay for.
Thanks for the advice @dbrn32 . I’ve been reading alot and think I’ve found what I’m looking for.
@dbrn32 I’m looking at the sonofarm pro series 4000 for my lighting. I’ve decided to go with a 4x4 tent. Do you think this light would be appropriate?
I ended up getting the vipar XS2000.
After doing a bunch of research that seemed to be the best option for a few extra bucks.
Pretty excited to set it up when it comes later today.
I think their bar styled lights are little more appealing to me. The light you’re looking at comes with dual elg-240 drivers. They will only hit full output when wired to 240v in US, which means you’ll be looking at about 400 watt light on output side. The bar light uses different class of driver capable of having a lot higher output. Otherwise these are pretty new and relatively untested through the masses, but look pretty good on paper.
@dbrn32 can you recommend something similar not requiring 240v?
Thanks
Their light doesn’t require 240v, just less power without it. Spider farmer had similar light but also used elg driver last time I knew. They may have switched on that model since.
The hlg-600r is similar light (4 boards) but uses better driver. Or the bar styled lights from sonofarm like I mentioned earlier. Outside of those I’m sure there are others I’m just not familiar with.
@dbrn32 hlg 600r is otw. Thanks again for your input. Being a new grower I want to eliminate issues I can control.
You’re going to love that thing!
That’s a good one, price on it pretty fair right now too.
Nicely done seems u done some serious reading n made ur own decision. The best of luck with ur new grow. Now the work begins, u’ll b puffy puff puffing ur own nugs soon enough.
