Leaves twist like rotini?

An odd description, but the best one I can give. I’ve looked it up and have been told everything from humidity levels, nutrient problems, wind, so much I honestly have no clue what could be causing it, so I’m leaving it up to you geniuses lol. This is happening in two plants now, so it’s a little cause for concern.
-FFOF
-Big Bloom (very very small amount)

Normal/common! Is generally pH related. :call_me_hand:t3: don’t worry too much about it this early. Keep working on your pH to get it in proper range.

Great to hear, thanks for the info

No problem! Also I’d like to say, don’t introduce any nutrients at all right now. :call_me_hand:t3:

New ones like to contort. Its because they are growing so fast

That’s what I was thinking, I need to learn how to use my TDS meter to get a better reading, because runoff levels show PPM is really low (350, and that was on the PPM 700 setting because I didn’t realize it at the time). But with the stunted growth and small size, I’d say they have enough nutrients to last a good month, especially since they’re about to be put in bigger pots.

Yeah and if you are transplanting the same medium that’ll buy you another 4-6 weeks depending on the nutes in the soil. :+1: pretty cool, and cost effective.

FFOF is usually pretty hot.

If they have been in the solos a while and they are stunted there is a chance the PPMs are low do to waterings. to buy your time before potting up you could add some soil to the tops of the current “pots” to give them additional nutrients without actually feeding. If your run off is significant enough to test it should be accurate, unless your meter isn’t.

I need to buy more soil anyhow, I was debating to buy Happy Frog, but I think the Ocean Floor is doing good as is. The first plant shown is the most healthy, she’s over 3 weeks old and stretched, but she’s healthy and growing very fast now (hence the bending as I’ve just learned). The other, though, is a little over two weeks and below half the size, way smaller now than the first one was at that age. I blame the stunted growth mostly on insufficient lighting and perhaps a calcium or magnesium deficiency.

Sounds like a plan! Keep doing your thing!

I’ve used it and it’s good for seedlings. I used to start with happy frog and transplant to ocean forest. And I use cal-mag the entire grow after seedling stage. :v::call_me_hand:

Those are some of your starter leaves. Keep in mind they were stuck inside a tiny shell for a while. Kinda like when you pull a new shower curtain out of its packaging. A bit creased.
