Leaves of my Gold Leaf plants are turning yellow

Have you been taking pH readings of your water when watering? How old are the plants? Have you been feeding the plants any nutrients? What brand of soil are you in?

I started growing in November. I use nature’s care organic mix. I basically used home nutrients, strained brewed coffee or vegetable scraps blend.

No I have not taken the PH readings

PH meter is a must have tool for growing . It also looks like the plant could be root bound . It needs more room to grow roots . More soil in a bigger pot .

Ok thanks, I will purchase the PH meter today and transplant into a larger pot.

pH is one of the keys to having good grows. I would recommend starting there. You should know the pH of the water going in and if you are flushing it would be good to know the pH of water coming out. The ppm of water going in and out is also important this will tell you if your plants are eating everything you are giving them.

Below is the pH meter that is most recommended. You can get less expensive models they are just a little more hassle and need to be calibrated more often. Ppm or tds meters are inexpensive.

I suggest a 5 gallon size container and fill soil 1 inch from the top being careful of the roots when transplanting . Ph water and nutrients to 6.5 before adding it to your plant .

Thank you I just saw these on amazon and I appreciate the help.

@Bubblehead I wish I had bought the Apera meter when I started out , it’s worth the extra money . I had 3 of the cheaper ones that did not last . You should also look at getting some PH up and PH down solutions to adjust the water .

It’s a little late to be transplanting when the plant is already flowering isn’t it? It is definitely root bound there not much soil in that pot…best of luck

That poor thing barely has it’s ankles covered in soil

I appreciate your suggestions. I will test do the PH test, should I also transplant? I am new at this, so I welcome any salvageable “solutions.”

Let me pull some people in for help. They have a lot more experience than I do. They should be able to help with the transplant. @Missiles @MattyBear @dbrn32

What kind of organic soil are you using, specifically?

I think the others have given you great feedback. You definitely didn’t put enough soil in that pot, and I suspect you have a ph issue as well. Your light is also too close.

You have to be careful using household stuff as fertilizer. In most cases, you would create a compost with all that stuff and let it decompose for quite some time, then use that compost in with your soil or to brew a tea and apply to your pot.

I agree that it’s probably late to transplant. Unfortunately with that little amount of soil in the pot I’m not sure if your plant will make it without one. I would definitely back light off too.

But your main concern is what and how much your feeding your plants because what I also see is NUTRIENT BURN And along with a posable P H problem, both combined would cause lock out, or Salt build up. Just water for now until you get that ph meter as @Bubblehead has stated. Hey @Bubblehead 1
