Ok, with y’all’s help, she’s doing so much better. Quick question: is she still in veg stage (white widow auto flower sprouted on April 25)? Are these little fluffy doodles at the top where the buds will be?
She’s starting to flower!
Yayyyy! Thanks!
Yup. Ull be in full on flower by Wed-Thurs. once those buttons get a bit hairier. The hairs are pistils. Calyx form at the base of those pistils and swell to become the buds we know and love
Fabulous! I’m upping the phosphate a little when I water, and I’ll keep an eye on the “pistils”. Thanks again!
@bunnyblue you said Fluffy Doodles lmao that is the best ever explanation !!
She seems to be super thirsty right now. I’ve watered her three days in a row. I feel like that’s wrong or something, but when I go in there and kinda monkey with her pot, she seems light, so that’s why. Do they need more water when they’re in first part of flower?
I’ve been told that I can’t over water but I can water too much.
If that makes any sense.
What kind of medium are you in?
How old?
And what sized pots?
All three of those questions can effect the rates which u need to water. But to answer ur question. They drink more in flower period. It’ll keep increasing until just before harvest when it slows down
I am limping toward the finish line. In fact, one leg may have fallen off a while back.
How much longer until I can give her the sweet release of death? Poor girl.
(I’m going to do so many things differently next grow.)
You have a while to go with all those white pistils
At least a few weeks?
Ok. She just looks so horrible. Brown spots and crinkling. ![]()
Can you get a shot of the whole plant.
Maybe the experts here ( lol not me) can diagnose the problems as you have a ways to go before chop time for sure
What are you feeding her? She’s in super soil right? With the flush she had a lot of goodies flushed out. ![]()

After everything went brown and weird I started adding my compost brew and cal mag to her water. The pH is right, but I guess everything else is, um, wrong. ![]()
Well the compost brew a good thing but she needs something more. I’d definitely put some banana peels in that brew and some earth worm castings. I don’t use cal mag, I’m in living soil and use Epsom salts and water soluble calcium made from eggshells.
Phosphorus is so easily washed out and I’m sure she’s lacking that too. I’m not sure which direction your headed, bottled nutes? or maybe some Dr earth organic? @PurpNGold74 can you chime in?
I think you can pull her to a finish, with some help of nutrients. Your next grow will be a lot better, you’ve already learned so much.
Oh yeah, I’ve been adding phosphorous to the water as well. I grow so many things I have a whole shelf full of supplements, but I’m striking out hard with this one plant.
I have a ziploc full of eggshells and vinegar that I can use for calcium, and I’ll get a banana and mush it up to add.
I’d look into living soil if I was you, you already have the amendments. I love growing in living soil.
Are you adding any rock dust?
No, but I do put rock dust (and all sorts of things) into my worm farm. I can scoop some it into the water, too. Easy.
