So my plants are growing in a 3 gallon cloth pot mixed with Fox Farms Ocean Forest been using fox farms nutrients and realized three weeks into my flowering stage my leaves are looking as if they have black spots or burning on the tips attached is a picture of some leaves that I pulled today
Do you have a picture of the whole plant and how have you been feeding with the Fox Farms nutrients I’m not sure on the black spots but it looks like it could be given too much nitrogen
This is one of them currently I have six plants a friend clones and a lemon haze that somebody else gave me she doesn’t really show the signs of this.
Thank you for the response I’m still trying to figure out how to navigate through this website I attached a couple pictures of one plant in natural light where you could really see the discoloration and burning on the leaves I’ve been following the guidelines as far as the nutrients go I’m watering three times a week Twice a week with nutrients and the third time is straight water I do notice as I picked the leaves off my hands get this staining with discoloration
no that doesn’t look like nitrogen toxicity. Have you checked for any insects or anything?
Do you check ph and ppms of run off? Cant really take any steps of action without knowing the ph and ppm
When I watered last the ph was 6.2 and the TDS meter read 2,642 with my run off water. I’m on a natural spring well where the TDS reads 240. I’m kind of on board with the bug problem because it seems like the little black spots are an oily residue when you rub them with your fingers
Man I’ve done everything from treating this with hydrogen peroxide, spraying the leaves and it still won’t go away My poor babies are starting to look like they’re shriveling up and dying at this point. Please any help from anybody out there would be greatly appreciated
@Jeff0712
You said you were in fox farm soil but that looks like coco, you are in soil?
You said you were feeding but your ppm is 2,642, don’t feed, maybe even flush the pot till ppm is closer to 1,000… I’ll let someone more experienced with flush needed for hot soil pipe in.
Bug issue, if stuff is coming off on your hand, I would think bugs. I tried lost coast on an outdoor grow last year and it worked ok, took a few shots but worked.
I used purecrop1 indoor a few months ago and it was a one spray affair but admittedly, I caught it early. Stuffs killer though.
There are people here that may recognize black oily residue and what bug it comes from, maybe they have a remedy with something simple found around the house @Covertgrower
I’ve used fox farms soils and nutrients in dozens of grows and have never seen damage like that caused by nutrients or light issues. I think your plant is infected with pest or fungus or mold and you should quarantine it or dispose of it. I wouldn’t trust smoking it.
Not sure with out seeing what the substance looks like.
Update after loosing 3 plants possibly 2 more I had to ask a one of our plant experts at work and was informed it was a type of insect and to go ahead and spray the plant with isopropyl alcohol it will Wipe everything out on contact which intern saved three of my plants now I can get back to my regular nutrients and maybe turn these things around thanks for all of the input and support that makes growing so fun
