Late Flower High Humidity

@Jeff420chef I don’t blame you better to be safe than sorry. Yes I’m glad I got on this forum to. I just pick random subjects and start reading. Learn a little bit about everything. I’m right there with you I’m learning as I go. As you know I’ve been dealing with humidity as well. My tent is right in front of one of my bedroom windows. I was outside a couple days ago and walking by that window and looked over and there is a ton of condensation all over the inside of the window. Which doesn’t help my humidity problem. With no other place to put my tent I was trying to come up with solution. I’m running my outtake fan from the top of my tent and slid it down behind the back of my tent now it’s blowing air on my window which has now cleared up the condensation :slight_smile: hopefully that plastic worked for you. Have you noticed a drop in humidity yet? And I’ve always heard good things about gelato. Did you try it how is it? I was reading the other night somewhere somebody was talking about chopping early and it’s just not quite as potent as they feel it should be. Somebody suggested a longer curing process which might help bring out more THC?

Yes! The humidity dropped by about 2 percent :joy::rofl: so back to the drawing board. Oh yes he had the same problem as me. I know it won’t taste quite right until it’s fully dry and cured but what I did rush to smoke had a pleasant feeling to it, but it’s definitely lower on the thc yield. Would not recommend chopping early on this strain but I’m happy with what I have. I’m glad moving your fan helped! What beans did you pop? I still have my sativa going but the more I look at it the more I think it’s one of those true tropical land race sativa’s that are super mold resistant and high yielding. Need a name for it, I was told it’s swamp cookies but there really isn’t a recognized strain by that name. I think Jeff og fits quite nicely as it will never be smoked by anyone but me.

@Jeff420chef glad your humidity dropped. Every little bit counts :slight_smile: sorry potency isn’t quite where you like it. A head change is better than no head change that’s for sure. I’ve started out with bagseed. 1 indica one sativa. Took a bunch of clones of both. I was going to flower both the big girls and ran out of room . So I decided to flower the indica and put the sativa in the living room. When the Indica is ready I will put the sativa in. Which is a beast right now at 40 in tall. And 2 ft in radius. Also found Ice Cream Sandwich seeds.
So far out of 7 Ice Cream Sandwich seeds I found two males. I got another one in the dark going to pull it tomorrow and hopefully it’ll be a female. I did chop down one of the Indica clones last weekend and got 18.5 G after drying. Probably will let it cure till the end of the month. I think I’m going to wait an extra week on the mom just cuz I feel like it could have been a little bit better. Jeff OG sounds good. Was thinking about Crossing one of the male ice cream sandwiches with the unknown indica. Come up with my own little strain. I was thinking if I do it maybe I’d name it unknown cookie or mystery cookie? It’s a lot of work. Right now I’m just trying to get down what I’m doing without losing anything :slight_smile:

@Jeff420chef without having to read back through the. Did you say you have an intake and outtake fan? And you do have fans blowing directly on the canopy?

Gorgeous buds man! I have yet to mess around with clones, not really sure I want to use the rooting agent. I know it’s basically harmless but my entire grow is centered around fully organic. I have a few fans directly on the canopy but because I’m growing in a while room basically I don’t have any exhaust. Smells like heaven every time I open the door!

Look around online some, you can find natural rooting concoctions.

@Jeff420chef thank you it turned out all right. So I’ve heard of people using honey or aloe vera instead of a rooting agent. Might be something to think about. What’s the humidity like inside the room the closet is in? Definitely sounds like you need a dehumidifier. Now that I have a filter I have to wait to open my tent to get those smells :frowning: used to be I just open up my bedroom door and want to lay down in my bed and just breathe the air. LOL

@dbrn32 hello sir. Hope you’re doing well. So I’ve gotten the boards the heatsink the driver the 18 gauge wire the Wago clips. I will be off to the store tomorrow to get the 16 gauge power cord. Question I did not get any bolts or nuts to connect the driver to the heatsink. While I’m at the hardware store I need to get some. Is there a certain kind I should get?

Is that baggie with the screws not what you need?

@MattyBear hello sir. No those are only the screws to the boards and heatsink. I bought the driver separate.

the heatsink is about 3/4 of an inch thick. I was going to get a little Bolt & Nut for both sides and tighten it down. I just don’t know if there’s a certain kind I should get. Does it matter?

Nah, doesn’t really matter as long as it works. I think the holes there are M4, but maybe double check as it’s been a while since I was hands on bolting driver to heatsink. The kit usually comes with bolts needed to do it though.

@dbrn32 good morning sir. Okay I didn’t want to grab the wrong ones if it mattered. I got the boards and the heat sink together. I bought the driver and everything else separate. The only screws that came with anything were those little tiny ones and they’re for the board and heat sink. If they were supposed to come with bolts I got jipped:-( that’s okay like I said I have to go to the store to get the power cord today. I will pick up the bolts while I’m there. I watched the video and it looks pretty cut-and-dry . But when I get it all put together in the next day or two I will tag you to have you glance over it and let me know what you think . Thank you again.

@MattyBear question for you sir. Do you or have you ever or do you know anything about splitting the stock or drilling a hole a week or so before Harvest?

All good. Makes sense that didn’t come with driver bolts if you bought driver separately.

@dbrn32 cool. Thank you

I’ve done all that stem splitting, drilling and any other old wives tales that people come up with. I haven’t noticed a discernible difference doing any of that extra stuff vs just keeping your plants as healthy as possible til the end.
