Last 3 weeks of auto tent grow

Ok, I am trying my best to complete my first grow. Plants are behind schedule do to improper watering and fertilizer during g month one (too little). Seed seller, ILGM, says 70 -75 days, but can be up to 90 days. I must harvest by day 90 because on a weeks vacation. Buds aren’t huge, but ok. Trichomes are still clear. My plan is to feed for two more weeks, flush for about a week. Then leave in dark for 48 hours before harvest. Any thing wrong with this plan? Darkness? Timing? Feeding? Thanks

Bottom line: an agricultural product will be ready when they’re ready. All you can do is provide good growing conditions. Sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do knowing the optimal timing may not be right.

A breeder’s timeline is based on their near perfect growing conditions tended to by master gardeners. Those are best case timelines. Your timeline will most likely vary depending on numerous variables including your experience and growing conditions.

Harvesting right before you go on vacation, could also impact your drying and curing processes.

I got a similar situation but I’m not going to be far from home for long so there’s no stress but completing that first harvest seems stressful enough right?

The more I look at those trichs the more I realize I can’t time it perfectly. A pretty scientific study I saw claimed the thc profile degrades 2-6% per week after its climax, of which there is no sure tell sign. So it’s not a harsh penalty for being a week or two off.

Thus I’m feeding my girls until I see amber on bud, using reading glasses and a hobby magnifying glass cuz I’m frugal. I’m in hydro so I’m only going to ‘flush’ a day or two and I might let the girls soak up all the water available to them before I cut them. But I might have to selective harvest.

Your plant cares not a bit about your vacation and the 90 day mark? Well only your plant and the trichomes will tell the tale

It’s a shame that you might have to harvest early but watch those trichomes and put off as long as you can in hopes of fully matured buds

This too, is a crucial step in the process that should not be forgotten

Not really stressed as I was, because I will end up with something. I am sure it will be less in quality and quality, but at the end of the day I will have grown pot. Most others have harvested Gorilla glue autos at around 75 days. I still have a week until even then. They will likely be ready for harvest easily by 90 days. I have a jewelry loop and trichomes are tough to read even using it. Looking for more couch lock anyway, so let em mature.

Good perspective. :+1:

You know i dont have any experience with this but I read an article by Bergman on here. It said that if you want to speed up flowering you can intentionally pollinate your females, then harvest a week later before seeds develops. Something about being pollinated forces the buds and trichomes to ripen very quickly. It says you can harvest fully mature buds one week after pollinating. I dont know if thats interesting to you or if its even worth it but ive been seeing posts about ppl asking how to speed up the flower process. Just don’t remember where on here I saw ppl asking about it now lol…
