KIND Soil Grow. Let's see if it's all they claim

@SilentHippie I’m guessing with the kind soil, you have to use a nutrient free base soil, correct? Could I use roots organic or ffof as my base is what I’m trying to ask?

@Drillbit I haven’t seen SilentHippie in some time. I followed this journal pretty closely, and he didn’t use any additional nutrients. Just whatever came in the KIND soil. Hope this helps.

I’ve never tried kind soil, but my understanding is that one uses it on the bottom half, and then tops the rest with a “normal” soil like ffof or ffhf.

With using that soil will you still have to add nutes like kelp, etc. In it? That’s a really good deal for 25L!

25L is actually the compost portion, it is concentrated and you need to add an aerator and medium, I chose perlite and coco, as I already had it on hand, it makes a batch of 75L. The site says water only, as all required nutrients are already in the soil, but I will be using additional additives in the flower portion of grow. I will tag you in my journal, if that helps?

You ARE supposed to use a charged base soil as the base. so yes Roots is actually perfect. FFOF may be a little hot if you’re putting your seedling straight in, might want to layer a little HF first.

Did you PH correct your water? If so, what did you use? I have always read that PH corrective (unless organic) will hurt your organic soil? Is this true? I am going organic on my next grow with GOLD LEAF and GGLUE - both ILGM seeds. I’m excited and any advise regarding PH corrective with organic soil would be appreciated as my tap is 7.0 to 7.3 out of faucet.

Pick up some citric acid crystals. It’s typically located in the canning section at most grocery stores. It’s perfectly fine in organics

Thanks! This will bring down PH? I’m small grower - just enough medication for my mother who suffers from Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease. I’m thought about making my own supersoil but time is not on my side right now. Who makes the best supersoil to purchase? Thank you again for your help.

I’ve never used it, but “kind soil” seems to have a lot of positive feedback.

I use Earth juice ph Crystals. They’re a little tricky to get used to. I tiny bit of the ph down will work for a gallon of water. Im talking grains of it. The Kind soil is an easy way to grow if you’re starting out or are looking for a fairly Maintenance free grow. I get more yield and bigger buds from nutrient fed plants but as you can see, the Kind soil does ok. I’ve used it for 3 grows now. No nutrients, just ph correct water. No flushing, no runoff.

Yes, this is for ph down. It’s literally like a small pinch of the the crystals to bring my water from 7.4 to 6.8. You can try the kind soil system. It seems hit or miss. It was starving my plant so I had to add in nutrients at about 3 weeks into flower and continue feeding. There is also a pot for pot. There’s an add for it at the top of the home page. @MattyBear is growing with it now and it’s turning out really well.

Im doing a similar thing with promix HP and supersoil. I made the mistake in the beginning of using seaweed extract with it and needed to flush. Seems to have recovered so far.
