thanks BTB… pretty much exactly what happened…

so BTB im planning on going down the extract route… i have make my own alcohol, down it before just really annoyed I have to, spoke to a mate its all about excise(tax) because they try to charge it as if it is off the number of standard drinks… madness… :rage:, this is poison… at that concentration, and charging it as a drink like that that sets a bad example… but my mate said… ā€˜yaeh pissheads are smart’… and he is right… do u know vanilla extract is like %30 alcohol? I use to be an animal… :man_facepalming:

so question… how much ethanol would u use to extract… say a pound… and how much would u like to just have lying around… like with dmt if I have 4 litres of naphtha I don’t need to worry about solvents for along time… u use like 30-50millilitres at a time… :grinning:

@ReconBravo it was so scary, the last %5 was that she could of had a stroke… or brain hemorrhage… because she was acting so peculiarly…

Aww, poor thing. I’m glad she’s alright again. I was reading intently with the very concerned face on, until I read the ā€œdon’t go to sleep, girlā€ part, and I’m right there with you…that’s hilarious, now. I think my wife might’ve said something similar to me my first time getting high again after so many years.

I thought all the green around the leftovers from last year outside was a cover crop at first, and I thought ā€œokay, that’s a little much.ā€ :joy:

thanks man… she’s back…! never again, im going to have to wash her, she smells… as in i dont think she likes the way she smells… :face_with_raised_eyebrow: :smirk:

lol… have you seen some peoples ground cover its similar to that… :face_with_raised_eyebrow: indoors… :smirk: @shindig153

so the outside grow is a little more complicated then I thought so ill be drawing it up on sketchup and I am thinking of using bamboo or reeds as a privacy screen… around the edges… inside the hole and if i do that i might be better off getting a semi trailer load of starter soil dumbed in there and making it up in there… :face_with_raised_eyebrow: and have it 1.5 ft deep and no pots…
I would prefer to grow without pots if I can… I like unlimited root freedom…

im almost out of soil… :face_with_raised_eyebrow:   I know this sound mad but a semi load is so cheap…

ill start in sketchup… sketchup is free…

ideas?

The only downside I can see to beds vs. containers is if you get a storm or something, you’ve made their bed and they have to lie in it.

For my past outdoor grows I built super soil and pretty much let them go. I’m stepping away from SS and going living soil outdoor this year. Cover crop and all. I’ve grown in the ground and in bags. I always get the best results in the ground outdoor. But being able to move a bag is nice when paranoia sets in during late flower. I had a plant come up missing two seasons ago. I plan on using a top dress method for nutrients and compost. Let the worms do the work getting nutrients to the roots. Plus if it rains as @elheffe702 said you won’t lose all the good stuff in the soil.
Here’s want I’m using for top dress. Ingredients: Gypsum, Azomite, Basalt Rock Dust, Crab and lobster Shells, Fish Meal, Alfalfa Meal, Fish Bone Meal, Kelp Meal. I’ll make a second batch dropping fish meal and adding sea bird guano and langbeinite for middle to late flower.

The first outdoor grow will be pricey but from that point forward you can reuse the same bed over and over. I have a couple outdoor beds I’ve been work for four seasons now. They get better and better each year.

me too, and if I do put them in pots they will bw too big to move… but u did just make me think of something… maybe I will just do twenty straight up sog… in pots I can move… decision decisions… one thing is im a lot less likely to kill them from under watering if they are in the ground…

I have time and I need to find out how much 20 tonnes of compost costs… etc…

True about not having to worry so much about watering the plants being in the ground. In bags it’s like watering my indoor plants. In the ground I rarely water.

I’m running autos this outdoor season. They’re normally ready to harvest late August. It’s normally a pretty dry time of year. Going into September it gets wet and cold. The photos don’t always make it to harvest before bud rot sets in.

yeah… that’s what I was worried about… I haven’t used those pots before… but Australia is generally dry… :face_with_raised_eyebrow:
btw ill be using this: Garrigan"s soil recipe - #5 by PigmanBBQ
I already have most of the stuff left to make more… a lot more… but…
I think you reminded me of the one thing about outside…its a gamble… roll the dice, I haven’t grown locally here before… so my investment needs to reflect this… also idk if ill be able to use this year in year out… so it may be a one time thing… thanks mate… you helped a lot… the semi trailer loads will have to wait I think…

btw my room stinks atm… in flower its choolope (barely at 9 weeks) and amnesia haze and the gold-leaf… you can smell it easily from outside my house… its the gold leaf mainly I think…

With the Source, I feel comfortable with a gallon of ethanol to last me several months/dozens of runs.

I’d say an ounce of bud needs a pint of ethanol. For trim I shove about 2.5oz into a qt jar and cover with about 3 cups of ethanol.
