Usually, I let them grow to 5 or six nodes, so they get sturdier. Then I top them around the third node, just before the fourth node.

@Growdoc even autoflowers??? I have some photo genes but ive been holdin off on starting them. I only have so few photo genes im like being extra picky with them. Plus i only have like 2 strains in photos. And i only have a tiny tent. So im waiting until i can get some more strains and better equipment before i go on that grand adventure . I wanna grow fire strains like youz guys here. But i also know i need the right gear to do so. I just got a new position as a foreman at a plumbing septic company so i should be able to start aquiring new gear soon ish. Lol got 4 kids and a grandkid that eat it all up lolz. So sometime soon maybe. Till then im saving those genes. Id love to play around with some but duckets prove scarce these days. I got a lot of auto genes that ive been using.

Cloning would theoretically work, but would stress the auto and potentially cause it to herm. Photos can be cloned indefinitely as long as you keep them in veg. I did that with my first grow and it was quite a crowded tent with mama and her 4 daughters…the other 6 were donated to a couple friends.

@PogueMahone sounds like a party in there! Once i get my man cave done and get a nice 5x5 all set up in there im gonna start really diving into photos. I know they are more productive than autos so im excited for it.

You may want to give thought to two 3x3 tents. It is a common practice to have a veg tent and a flower tent running simultaneously. Of course, then you have to double fans, humidifiers, lights, etc.
Alternatively, you could grow autos and photos in a single tent, best of both worlds
