Just curious as to how many established indoor growers just look at it like just a tent with weeds in it. To me it has become just a fixture that sits and has plants in it. After dialing in,especially organic/living soils, there is really nothing to do but watch and water. Have many of you just lost all stress…I have…and it has just become a routine never thought about but water days?
I don’t even look at my plants any more unless I am tending to them, which is about every 3 days for feed/water.
Same here. I do driveby looks but unless they are dieng I move on…lol.
Y’all are so right. When I was using Fox Farm trio it was a lot of work. With ED it is a no brainer ![]()
Happy Growing
For me it’s just a distraction from this BS obligatory routine of life, stress, BS financial responsibilities. The worse it is in the real world the more I do in the “garden.” It’s a distractive(sometimes monetarily destructive) hobby that occasionally turns out something worth the time and money invested. When all the hard parts are over- I usually get bored and want to start something else, or fabricate a new approach.
The idea and methods of the grow keeps my attention more than the outcome. However over the last few dozen runs I have found some worthwhile. The rest sit in the bags until it gets mulched, or ends up new set of hands that are in need.
After retirement in a horrible economy I do absolutely nothing. No vacations. No spending at all. Cant trust to have a retirement with all the worry.
No retirement here, no vacations here, just an endless loop of transferring money everywhere but my own account.
Thankful for the hobby.
Anymore, I just peek in every day or so to make sure nothing is dying.
Past that, I just add water when needed.
big life changes ahead, been researching and planning to start growing with less hands and eyes on them. i’m generally like @Low describes with my hobbies, but i’ve got no choice, so i’m leaning in to this ‘lazy’ grow thing as hard as i can.
Im not taking my eye off you…![]()
This was me my first grow but seem to be much more at ease now and don’t check nearly as much
I think it depends on the why of the grow. If it’s only about the finished product, then it’s all just noise. If it’s about the hobby of gardening, then it’s as much about the means as it is the end. For me, it depends on what’s going on in my life at the time, as to whether growing is a hobby or just a resource at any particular time.
I agree completely. I started growing for my wife.
She’s a vet with PTSD and i got tired of the endless bottles of pills the VA was pumping her with. She’s so much healthier now.
That’s my why. So i visit my garden every day, multiple times a day. I sit with them and raise the co2 in their room while they give me O2. I sit and listen to the water fall in the reservoir and reflect.
So it’s not only a hobby for me, but a way to have my wife live. That makes my plants a future part of her.
It’s also a way i fight my own demons. A lot of meditation happens in my garden.

i appreciate what she did for our country, and i’m ashamed by the inability of our va to provide meaningful help after we’ve already asked so much. quick to send them, slow to save them.
very noble what you are doing. glad you’ve found something that works.
Thank you.
I’m pretty much the total opposite of everyone. I spend at least 4 to 5 hours every single day with my plans. I talk to them I eat breakfast with them occasionally give them a haircut. I treat them like family. In return. They’re pretty good to me too
It’s amazing what a nurturing parent receives from nature.
Nice replies. Many different thoughts from growing peace to just a med type of thing.
I like to check in on my plants daily. growing is a hobby for me so I like to take 10-15 min a day to look my plants over. check for any issues or problems and make any adjustments to the ties I use for the LST stuff like that. Then of course I’ll sometimes spend longer with them when I have additional things like pruning I need to do.
