Anybody on anything about solor panals im just seeing if it would cost way to much i have 2 hps 400 watts. That im looking in to running with it just dont no to much about it or if it would even work thank
idk about todays solar panels but they used to make the panels in 100 watt pieces, youd need at least 8 (probably more since panels rarely run at 100% efficiency) of them plus batteries with sufficient storage an inverter and probably more stuff.
ive read this topic on ilgm before and if you have cheap local power most people wont save enough to justify the installation and maintenance of solar panel system. but if you are in remote location or need to hide your electricity usage its a good way to go.

The problem is that solar systems only make much power from about 10 AM to 3 PM, so you need a way to store electricity to use it for weed. We need more like 12 or 18 hours per day. You can get enough batteries to do that but it will cost you A LOT. Much cheaper if you can get a grid-tied system that runs the meter backwards during the power generation hours and then draws power from the grid other times. That way your bill stays low and you don’t attract as much attention. But the pay-back period is still years.
Another way to be discrete is to pick up a used electric spa and wire it up to run, but then don’t run it. Keep it clean and full of water, so cops can see you have a reason to use the electricity.

good suggestion on the spa, its not cheap but maybe effective. also u can limit detection with a small grow. thats the main reason i havent upgraded to a larger tent. my small light will not attract too much attentin

It’s not cheap…
It can actually be free if you watch Craig’s List for a while, and have a good-sized truck. People pay to have them removed sometimes.
