Central AC is going in at some point this year. Window shakers for now. If it’s 95°f I’m lucky to see 77°f in the house (which isn’t terrible) but the humidity stays up there.

When we bought this house last year, we ended up having to replace the central unit. Upgraded to a 2 phase unit so it helps tremendously with the humidity. Im really thinking about building a grow room in my attic and utilizing the central unit.

I am in the HVAC field, voltage/phasing has no bearing on humidity/coolness. Maybe you upgraded/downgraded the tonnage or I’m reading it wrong?? 
Excessive.tons of cooling = humidity gain, lesser tons of cooler = .ore dehumidification. 
Maybe you mean 2 stage?
If you’re looking to design a system let me know, may be able to help. It’s a little different than the environment I’m used to but not much
Current house has no central AC, being an HVAC guy you would think that would have happened forever ago but it was just not in the cards with all of the unexpected expenses when we bought the place lol. The boiler is only 3 years old and the HWH is only 1 year old, chainsaws, wood stove, newer roof, pool liner, ZT mower, tractor, etc. It just wasn’t a priority at the time.
