hello group, being new to growing my own pot I have a question that others that grew JH outside might be able to answer. I live in upstate New York and am growing outside. I placed the plants in the ground at 2 weeks on June 12, and now its August 19 and it still looks like it will be 2 or more weeks. Its been quite rainy the past few days, but the temp has been 70-80 degrees. How many weeks till harvest on average is the norm under these conditions. I have pictures, but dont know how to load them onto this blog. Any help would be appreciated
I think the times outdoors for autos can be different (longer) …that’s what I’ve read anyway
More knowledgeable members will answer for sure
There’s nothing unique about Jack Herer. Flowering times will be 8 to 10 weeks from the first appearance of pistils. Autos start-to-finish times can vary, as autos can flower any time between 4 and 9 weeks.
ok, has anyone grown these plants under said conditions have an input and also how to post my pictures

Hello. Welcome to the forum. I am in CNY. This is my 2;d year growing and I have heard from my old school friends. That most strains will finish around the 2nd week of September the earliest to sometime near the 2nd week of October. This all depends on your strain. You have come to the right place for being new to growing. Best of luck
Any thoughts on how close to harvest?
Need to look at trichomes closely and know what type of high you want.
Expecting my JHAutos to arrive soon.

noticed also.
I put my last JH auto outside last year. It was out there about 2 months. Didn’t grow very big (about 2’). Autos do their own thing and there does seem to be much uniformity.
As for posting pics, if your on you’re cell, I can’t help you. If you’re on a PC look in the reply box.
well its been a couple of days since I last posted and the plant is starting to plump up a bit. trichomes are still clear. The plant is 4 foot high and is on day 69 today. This is my first plant from seed and dont know what to expect as it isnt ready or close at the recommended harvest time. approximately how long past the 70 day finish time do they usually go? I know conditions usually dictate, so what has anyone experienced with this situation.
Pics are a little blurry when I zoom in on them, but I think i still see white pistils in pic one
You want to wait until the white pistils turn brown and turn inward to the buds
After that happens then start checking trichomes for amber
I could be wrong about those pistils so if you can get a close up of the buds especially the pistils that would help in giving you a time line
67 days from seed? JHA are listed as an 8 week flower. I believe you have about 4 weeks to go.
Those look like they are in mid flower (4-5 weeks?). Pay attention to the pistils. When they start browning in large numbers, start checking your trichomes. You’re looking at clear (more than likely) at this point. You want milky and cloudy for THC. When amber trichomes start appearing on the buds (not the leaves) the plant is probably at (or close to) 100% THC potency. Allowing the plant to mature further will increase the plants CBD potency with about a 2-3% drop in THC for every week left in flower. During this time the buds will continue to develop and as time goes by continue to increase in size.
If you know when they started to flower you can guess about when you should be harvesting. The best way to know for sure is to check your trichomes.
Thank you oldmarine, I thought it was an average of 70 days from seed to harvest for this auto.
I thought I was going to have faster grows with autos. I also thought they would be much bigger plants. The only thing you don’t need to worry about with autos is lighting schedules. Everything else is the same basically. I can grow small plants in 12-16 weeks. I don’t need autos to do that.
@oldmarine Semper Fi!
1st my 10+10 JHA seeds will arrive today:
The website’s description creates some confusion, IMHO:
At the top, it says flowering takes 8 weeks. To me that means we have 4-5 weeks from germination for vegging, and then whenever flowering begins, we have another 8 weeks or so until harvest.
But then a little lower down in the description it says indoor growers can expect to harvest in 8-10 weeks??? For me, any plant that can go from seed to harvest in 12 weeks or less is an extremely fast-growing strain. At 12 weeks, one gets a Harvest every 3 months or 4x per year. This should be more than fast enough to keep up with most people’s usage so that they will never run dry again after their 1st harvest!
