Is this the beginning of pollen sacks?

I was told you can start telling after a while if you have a male. Granted this is where i topped but…I got my concerns.

It kinda looks like it but need a pic thats more clear, also bunch of little white specs in the pic look a tad bit concerning.

I agree with Koup. Those do appear to be male flowers forming but it is a difficult picture to really see them. My advice would be to also check the underside of buds as they’re building. If you only see a few male flowers you can usually pluck them off and finish out the grow with minimal if any seed in your buds.

Also the white specs are diatomaceous earth. That happened when i transplanted a few days ago. I found a couple of brown pirces of dirt on the bottom of the plant as well when i transplanted.

Yup. Those are male flowers. I would pluck them off, check every node for more and pluck those. If the plant is absolutely loaded with them then you can make a decision from there if you want to keep it or remove it. Hermaphroditism isn’t a horrible thing but if it’s persistent and lots of male flowers you could end up with a decently seeded harvest. Not a bad thing if you don’t mind free seeds that should be predominantly female but could also carry that herm trait again.

Whatever you decide, once finished with this grow or starting a new one, I would wipe the tent and all accessories with hydrogen peroxide and water in a spray bottle to kill all the remaining pollen to avoid seeds in your next grow.

Check your light timer for proper function, then check your tent for light leaks. How are your temperature swings? Many things can stress a plant to hermaphroditism and those things can all be mitigated in the future.

This one was a regular seed so it may have been a male from the start.

Not that big yet actually.

Ive only found signs in that one spot. So is it simply too young yet or has it simply hermed?

I dont want to kill it yet because its a pretty plant. Dark beautiful greens.

Oh it may entirely be too young still. I didn’t realize that it was that small still. And it could be a flat out male.

This little stem on the flower is only on male flowers.
Probably a true male, but without more pics or time it could be hermie.
I am guessing male since its so early.

Ii agree looks like a dude. Spiney pointed out a good indicator
A female will never have any sex parts on a stalk. Always a vagina with 2 pistils. Closer to branch joint. Thing about males is they mature faster. Gotta get them ladies preggers. Good thing is you have time to decide a path. Death or jack it off for pollen.

A fellow grower said this early on with how it looks it might be a good stud.

Heres the issue. This one does not fit the profile of a true Zambian so we are thinking it was a cross.

Honestly I am thinking about breeding it but id like to know what the cross is?

You got some pests lurking around the base of the fan leaves and look like a ( possibly harmless) little creature chillin to…i would ask them for id just to be safe lol. Good eye with the area of concern, wait another cm or so, and fix the possible mold/critter thing in the meantime

Old thread. We’ve all been there.
