Is sulfur important in regimen?

I’m looking into micros and found Southern Ag EME which has sulfur in it. I’ll be switching to an all Raw brand regimen later and they’ve got their own micro but without sulfur. Is the sulfur important enough to go with the off-regimen brand?

TIA!

The main purpose for sulfur is chlorophyll production. I would say it is needed.
Google it and read away. I found alot of info.

You could use the nutrient mentioned and just add epsom salt to the watering and you would be good. They need very little and deficiencies are rare with sulfur but it is very important.

Yeah, I keep getting small nitrogen deficiencies and want to do as much for chlorophyll as possible but it’s bottom of plant so im confident it’s not a sulfur problem. Wasnt sure how safe I need to be but ill be adventurous.

Thanks for the feedback

A little Epsom salt is all you need. Like a 1/4 tsp per gallon.
Epsom is Magnesium Sulfate. As soon as its dissolved it splits into each component.
It will fill the need as sulfur is not needed in great quantities. Every other watering may be enough. Cannabis likes magnesium too so you are only supplementing that too.
Just make sure the Epsom you get is not a scented one. Just plain. It will say Magnesium Sulfate USP in the ingredients on the back.

I wonder why they don’t have the Neem scented bath salts next to lavender and lemon.
lol.

@Bonjoyle and @Spiney_norman are right on with a bit of sulfur is needed by your plants.
Sulfur is indeed an important element for the cultivation of cannabis. [It plays several roles in the growth and health of the plant, including aiding in the production of chlorophyll, being a component of proteins and amino acids, and boosting plant resistance].While cannabis doesn’t require as much sulfur as other elements like nitrogen, potassium, or phosphorus, a balance is crucial. Too much or too little sulfur can affect the plant’s root health, chlorophyll production, and metabolism

I was using jacks 321 mix for veg and switched to the bloom version in flowering. I was wondering if the Epson salt was good for them or if it just helped the two mix together in the mix.

I liked how the bloom was only one step instead of add part one, mix, add Epson salt, mix and part 2 and mix. Should it be ok to add a bit of Epson salt to the bloom mix? If I remember right 321 mix was 5-12-24 and the bloom was 10-30-20 so I’d think bloom would be much better during flowering. Any recommendations?

Guy at the local hydro shop says Sulfur is one of the most neglected nutrients. And also Jeremy from build a soil says sulfur has a lot to do with smell of our buds

Jacks 321 Part A is about 30% Epsom salt so you have enough already. I have been growing with Jacks for 3 years and for the last year have omitted the additional Epsom salt. I use a little more part A and the normal amount part B and have seen no problems.

You’ll need to add jacks boost ( part B) if you’re using the 10-30-20 as there’s no calcium in the jacks bloom. Like @Spiney_norman recommended the epson can be eliminated if using 321 :love_you_gesture:

Pretty plant, it must be liking the rain water too. I like your barrel set up.

The rain water is the best water and it’s so much easier then letting water sit out over night. To dechlorinate.

Wish I knew that earlier but guess at least I know now. Nothing on the packaging or what I read said anything about adding the part b calcium to it.

What kind of problems would arise from lack of calcium?

What strain is that? She looks amazing though!

I’m pretty sure even though it isn’t a big 3 that calcium is very important.

If using the bloom nutes, only for one week. No partb! If you go longer u would get a calcium deficiency. Especially if in coco

I used it for nearly the entire flower stage. About 2 months or something like that. I didn’t keep good notes which is something I started doing now.

Now that you pulled the chart out idk how I missed that. So I should use the 321 mix the entire time except for the first week of flowering? I just read over the packaging and the only thing I seen was it saying for best results use with other jr products. Which ofc they’d say that. What happens when they don’t get enough calcium?

  • Improves absorption and translocation of nutrients. Calcium is essential in allowing your cannabis plants to absorb other nutrients. This is why a calcium deficiency often also leads to other nutrient deficiencies.
  • Benefits cell membrane permeability. It keeps needed nutrients inside cells, and lets other nutrients move to other cells.
  • Strengthens plant tissue. Calcium strengthens the cell wall structure in all parts of the plant, including the stems, leaves and roots. This improves the robustness of plants and benefits their overall health.
  • Better resistance to pests and diseases. Stronger plant tissue means your plant is better able to resist pest infestations and diseases.
  • Protects your plants from heat stress. Calcium promotes respiration of plant tissue, and stimulates enzymes that protect your cannabis plants from abrupt temperature changes.
  • Nurtures the cells of your cannabis plant. Calcium regulates and controls hormone and enzyme activities, along with playing an important role in energy generation and gene expression.

:point_up_2: a very vital secondary nutrient Grow Bro :love_you_gesture:

Apple fritter mixed with idk. I grew an apple fritter and gave my friend a clone. His clone had a male from the yard next door get it seeded. And when I smoked his bud, I sprouted the seeds. So I know apple fritter for sure
