So here’s an article about long term users getting violently ill over MJ. Nit like developing a persistent cough or anything like that, but overdose type sick. What the what?! You know, are dispensaries becoming like Big Pharma, in that they are developing and selling MJ that is tainted?

I seen that in other news too. Twice, not quite what they describe but differently sick, I smoked weed and got suddenly sick sweating sick stomach chills fever, almost flu-like or food poisoning but it lasted 5 minutes then goes away without further problem leaving me just very very stoned. No big deal. Buddies said I green’d out. I seen it happen to others. Thing is once time I dunno about the zource but other times im sure it was clean weed. Its very rare and not very scary so no big deal.

morning growmie… I have thought alot about this topic and wonder if those getting sick were using dispensary or maybe some other source that may not have been truthful about what was used to grow the cannabis…the few long time smokers I still have left in my circle have never experienced this … maybe those getting sick are new and so a strong cannabis does this to them because they over do it… most don’t understand that cannabis is just meant to be a mild relaxant…

I think it’s a lot like nic poisoning, smoke to much to fast on an empty stomach and you get the sweats,chills and stomach cramps.
I do,it often if I get up to early.
Same with high thc intake.
If your not used to it then it’ll hit ya hard.
I did it to the Sis in law at Thanksgiving. Let her hit the lobo a few times and gave her a 50mg gummie.
Sure enough by dinner time she had the sweats, chills and stomach cramps.
She thought she was getting sick, I said no, just ride it out an hour and you’ll be fine and baked. Sure enough she lived 
Now the Violent Pukes that they are reporting now I believe is from Spray of some sort the are using on the gov grown weed

Something that can actually make your stomach is, and sorry to gross anybody out, not spitting up crap you may be coughing up. I smoke a lot, and some days I have some minor coughing fits while not smoking. It sounds gross, but swallowing all that buildup can wreck your guts. Vaping dxxx near leaves a film around the capillaries since it doesn’t dissipate as effectively as smoke. It can absolutely cause nausea and bowel irritation

The article is new, but the syndrome is not. Cannabis hyperemesis (hyperemesis = vomiting) syndrome has been known since 2004.
I found a study that cited that the syndrome is diagnosed in 22.3 persons per 100,000 emergency room visits for all causes (2022 data.)
It is increasing. The metric was 4.4 persons per 100,000 ER visits in 2015. The increase in 2022 is most likely due to increased awareness of the syndrome. Cases prior to 2004 were likely misdiagnosed.
The syndrome is caused by acute THC poisoning (due to overconsumption or body chemistry not compatible with THC.) Dispensary weed are sometimes contaminated with pesticides. Street weed is a different story and can be dangerous thee days.

“Big Pharma” is not intentionally adding poison to their medicine. You know this stuff is tested and recorded right? Every batch has test results that are kept for years. Talk to someone that works in a lab to understand why this isnt possible.
Commercial weed is full of mold and pesticides but CHS has been reported for at least 2 decades at this point, and I think everyone knows somebody who just cant smoke because their body reacts in unpleasant ways.
Are some people getting too high once(greening out) and its being recorded as CHS? Probably. Does it exist? Yeah it seems so.

I also had a few occasions where I was ill…almost like a panic attack. This was 40 years ago. My recent experience was a 50 mg gummie in Colorado a couple years ago for my 60th birthday. I also had a few drinks and maybe the altitude contributed…but I could not even get off the couch and was ill for an hour or two.
The gummies affect me alot…even though I smoke all day everyday now that I am retired.

I wouldn’t bet on that, there’s no money in well people, but lots in treating sick people, they want to keep you sick. Another reason I started making my own meds from plants. Someone once called it alternative medicine, I say it’s the original medicine, it’s just not their alternative!

Just saying… I’ve been using cannabis for well over 50 years and only “recently” have I ever seen someone getting seriously sick consuming it. I understand getting the jitters or greening out… But getting life threatening illness is quite new (to me), and I read a lot…
Big investors have been known to spray pesticides and then just do a bud wash or add some terpenes to cover the taste… Commercial is all about the moneys, they could not care less for the planet or their customers unless their bottom line takes a hit…

Interesting topic never seen anyone get seriously ill from using thc, I do know that all dispo weed has the same smell with hints of terps, never understood, vaping also probably isn’t healthy long term, remember when it was marketed as a safe alternative to smoking, on the other hand could something be incorporated into the nutrient game because no one really knows the breakdowns in the nutes especially with the growers explosion that has happened over the recent years. Like I said interesting topic but I sure would like a couple Kona red seeds.

Apparently chemicals that are used on ornamental plants are being used on weed . Growth regulators as well . At least I know what’s in mine , nothing . Peace .
