The people here are amazing Roger and we genuinely care. The out pouring of support is beyond compare from one and all. You’re alone there and it can’t be easy to keep going, I don’t know how you’re doing it but keep going my friend. Don’t get lost in your despair. I know for a fact if anyone of us was close enough we would be there by your side
Bahahahaha men’s department lol what a reply! Thank you American fighting men and women for all you have done.
I have not learned to make edibles for fear of over dosing my wife she weighs 98 lb now she has lost 20 lbs she been taking 2 hits off a joint to sleep at night went to 4 a couple days ago and ended up in ER anxiety attack, the meds are taking their toll on her. My daughter left behind 4 kids I’m trying to make it right for my grandkids but I can only do so much with my son in law remarrying. Sorry for the long rant
My heart goes out to ya Brother! Do you have a specific strain for her condition? I’ve smoke some really good herb that gave me anxiety. @anon33684698 grows for a few of her friends that suffer from different ailments. I’m sure she could help if you needed any particular strain info? I feel your pain, my wife is Bipolar and suffers from depression. Sour D in micro doses during the day and GDP at bedtime.
I thought indica would help her, or maybe cbd she really hasn’t ever done cannabis and her depression, anxiety and parkinsons are bad if someone has suggestions on strains I would appreciate thanks everyone
Hey thanks for the tag @OGIncognito but I’m still a very new grower so there’ll be plenty of more experienced peeps on here with better info.
@Chasfitter
I don’t really have anything of much use to offer but here’s an interesting point I’ve noticed about my anxiety:
The one thing I’ve found since I started growing is that with the weed I used to buy, if I accidentally had a tiny bit too much (and I’m a light weight) I’d feel all spinny and nauseated and get anxious. Then, lo and hold, during covid, I decided to start growing, got me some ILGM seeds, found this forum, and grew some really nice stuff - as in, all my friends say it’s the best they’ve ever, ever had. And I’ve accidentally “had too much” plenty of times - especially during pain flares - and haven’t experienced any of those yucky feelings, just a kind of funny “Whoops! Shiz I’m stoned!”
This isn’t me boasting about my growing skills, it’s saying that clearly, no one around here takes care of their weed plants like I’ve been taught on here to do. And the difference in the end product is so very noticeable.
We’ve also been playing around with which strains that I have will work best for pain and no surprises, but the higher the Indica, the better the pain relief.
Like I said, not much to offer but that’s where I’m at with growing specifically for pain
@latewood and others. Thankyou for sharing your stories and being so open and honest about where you’re at in your lives. This amazing forum is always so positive and uplifting and supportive. I just love coming on here and get disappointed when there aren’t new posts to read yet. I barely touch my Social Media anymore because it’s just so negative compared to on here.
I’ve recognised in myself that lately my “resilience bucket” is running quite low - there’s plenty of tears and frustration when the pain just won’t let go, so I’ve booked in for some counselling to try to be proactive about my mental state when my poor body is in so much pain. The lady I see also runs a business for end-of-life care, so not being at all dramatic or whatever but I knew she’d understand my perspective with the pain I’m in.

I feel the same way, and although many of us have some of the same issues; There is proof that there are many reasons for our ailments. Both physical and mental.
Well; I’ll tell you…(3 double ll’s in a row; hmmm)
I have made it by leaning on my dogs. Lost my mastif Golden Retriever Mom last summer, but my little Poo Bear (red nose) and my giant hound dog love me to death. Probably the greatest thing for comfoty. I also am blessed with both of my parents being alive, although I cannot go see them very often. Thanks for adding to the conversation. Peace
Thanks Brother. I was actually motivated by knowing I was not the only one wiht issues, and when everyone started posting, I was glad to see that this could help us all form a bond that will endure and supply us all with some form of comfort. Glad you came.
You can talk all day as far as I am concerned.
Anxiety from smoking Cannabis is due to one or 2 things. For sure.
-
Sativa dominant is an up high and if one takes too much or the plant was harvested early; Then that means the THC was still too active. You want to make damn sure when harvesting Sativ’ for meds that you have a majority of amber trichomes, which means the THC is decaying and will make you sleep. Anxiety from Cannabis can be controlled by breathing and staying, know it iwll pass in a couple minutes.
-
Harvesting early is a primary reason, as stated above. Hatvesting whil RHC is fullt active can cause an anxiety effect.
Look for Indica dominant strains. They are generally less likely to cause anxiety, and will help induce sleep.
So sad to hear about your daughter. May she aRIP.
Thank you latewood it means a lot, I have a golden retriever and she comforts us both, we got her after my daughter passed, you hang in there your doing a great job
I will have to look up and find you a video on making Cannabis infused Coconut oil and Lecithin.
You can use it to cook in, take orally, as a topical, inplace of shortening to make cookies orotherbaked goods.
Basically: We carxylate the Cannabis in a Sous Vide in a sealed mason jar in order to retain the terpines. After that completely cools down allowing terpine sback into the organic matter, We place in Sous Vide for 5 day @118-120 degrees. (Some folks drain the coco oil at that time and top with Coco oil again).
To sipercharge this Infused Coco oil, we add some sunflower seed oil (lecithin), and Sous vide it for…I want to say a day, but I need to check my notes. It is a day, or 3 days. Once this process that takes a week is done you have Cannabis Coconut oil and it has no bounds.
We will talk more about this when I can get to the office and dig out all my stuff. If you are interested; I will find the Sous Vide, tub and cover to make it an effieicent cook.
Much love to you all. R
Set to follow that recipe
True words, chopped 3 down 2 weeks early due to some folks working on my house. Smoking it after drying have a few bouts of anxiety and rapid heart beat. I cured that same harvest for 75 days and it turned out to be a decent smoke for daytime usage in small doses
You also may want to look into a vaporizer. They make micro dosing so much easier
Well…I truly believe that if you experiment with this coconut oil, you may just find a bit of relief.
There you go. Harvest early = potential anxiety with certain strains.
Cool. I wondered for a long time why that happened until I had moderated several good cannabis forums… Basically; It was when we all started to study and understand trichomes, that I found out that the cause of this anxiety was as I described.
Oh hell eyah, Vaping is defintiely a healthier choice as well. In fact; Part of the anxiety is due to the inhilation of smoke; Whereas, the vape if pure is much nore soothing to the lungs.
Great catch!!!
