I can add to this flex duct creates air terbulance noise rigid ducting tends to reduce noise level considerably
I’ve never used anything other than the insulated flexible in a grow, but that makes sense. I’ll check out noise with the flexible before I make anything semi permanent around it. Thanks for the tip!
You know I’m here and watching!
That also is when proper sizing is necessary @Donaldj
But you do make a valid point on noise
@dbrn32
if you have a short run
flex will be fine you can use the rigid flexible pipe as well it will stay straight with out to many straps to hold it up just a thought
I wouldn’t run flex as @AmnesiaHaze mentioned on a run over the 20-25 foot tho then you want hard duct
Copy that, thanks!
Home Depot sells some nice white ridged 4 inch storm drain pipe. Very smooth inside which should minimize turbulence. They have tees and elbows for it. If you need to join it to flexible air duct, they have some flexible black plastic storm drain fittings that include a coupler that fits between them very nicely.
I did have to make my own 4 inch to 6 inch Y fitting to join my smaller ducts to one 6 inch, but I later saw some of those at a local hydroponics shop.
Thanks for the heads up. I’ll see what I’m working with and check it out.
