So here is a question I have not really found an answer to.
Some people decarb herb in an oven then add the weed to oil and decarb/extract it in an instant pot.
Others just mix the weed to the oil and decarb/extract in one step.
Is there a noticeable difference between the two step process over the one?
I do both, now, depending on the time I have, what material I’m infusing, and amount I want to infuse. Usually, I do a partial oven decarb, followed by 30+ minutes in the instant pot. If I don’t oven decarb, I go with 60 minutes in the instant pot, with 2 or 3 breaks to stir the material (use quick release, not natural). I honestly only oven decarb so I can spritz the decarbed herb with Ever Clear, which has been shown to increase the cannabinoid level of oil infusions (see the Instant Pot thread post Re:Scientific Method of making budder for an article about this process).
