It takes money to train someone. I look at the first grow as a training grow. The only thing that holds a lot of us back is finances as the experience comes as we go along. As for getting dialled in, that will take a few grows to get right. You will find that the things you take for granted this time will go wrong the next time and it will frustrate the living daylights out of you. Things like pH which was always right this time will be a battle the next time. Canopy looks brilliant and super healthy
As a Massachusetts boy I struggled for a quick second with your Yankee Stadium… but then I looked into those pictures a second or two longer. Everything looks absolutely wonderful. I’ve got nothing jumping out at me for suggestions the fine gentleman above already commented on everything I may have touched.
Congrats on your upgraded space. Thanks for continuing to share. Great looking job.
And yes the differences in flowering time are all natural. I’ve had 2 seeds from the same batch pop together and take a 10 difference to make harvest.
@YankieDoodle Plants are looking great! But as you mentioned, your RH is pretty high. Keep this chart handy. It will help to guide you through the grow.
These are the best humidity levels to grow huge buds:
Photoperiod 8 week veg & 10 weeks of Flower.
Veg week 1 70%
Veg week 2 70%
Veg week 3 70%
Veg week 4 70%
Veg week 5 70%
Veg week 6 70%
Veg week 7 70%
Veg week 8 65%
Flowering week 1 65%
Flowering week 2 60%
Flowering week 3 55%
Flowering week 4 50%
Flowering week 5 50%
Flowering week 6 45%
Flowering week 7 45%
Flowering week 8 40%
Flowering week 9 40%
Flowering week 10 40%
Temperature, humidity, and CO2 levels are among a few of the environmental conditions you need to inspect daily to assure vital processes like photosynthesis and transpiration are possible within your garden. Note: temperature drops should only be within 10-15°F after lights are off.
Clones & Seedlings: 72-82°F @ 70-75% Humidity
Vegging Stage: 68-78°F @ 50-70% Humidity
Flowering Stage: 68-77°F @ 40-50% Humidity
Harvest: 65-75°F @ 45-55% Humidity
Depending on the stage the plant is in, these values slightly differ,
but generally speaking, these are the perfect values:
Light: 600 watt per 12 square feet
CO2: 350 ppm
Water: as required*
EC: between 1.0 and 2.0
pH: soil - 6.4 to 6.9 coco - 5.5 to 6.2
Temperature: 77-86 degrees F
Humidity: 50-60%
Copy/Paste this to save for future use.
Hope this helps.
@YankieDoodle More growing/harvest info to save.
Time of harvest affects the taste, smell and weight of your buds
0-49% of the pistils are brown – Not ready yet
50-70% of the pistils are brown – Ready for harvest,
but it’s still a bit young. Light taste and mellow high.
Maximum weight not yet achieved
70-90% of the pistils are brown – Ready for harvest.
Taste and effect are at their peak. You’ve reached maximum weight
90-100% of the pistils brown – Almost too late for harvest.
Taste is heavy and the effect is narcotic.
Harvest right away and don’t wait any longer!!

7th Inning Stretch
Current Situation
Today begins the 7th week of my flowering cycle.
Temperatures have ranged from mid 70s - mid 80s entire run.
Humidity has ranged from 60-78%.
Minimal sprays of peppermint oil and soap mixture have been applied as needed for pest prevention.
Plants have been on a 2 minute watering cycle twice daily - receiving Jacks at half to full strength.
I plan to begin my flush on Friday.
Enjoy and looking forward to some feedback !
Knee high forest over there at your place. Very nice
Wow great job and beautiful ladies
September 23
Today is halfway into my 7th week of my cycle.
I’m scheduled to begin my flush tomorrow and harvest on October 4.
Before I begin my flush, I was hoping to catch some more opinions and feedback.
Strains are - Gelato and Zkittles recommended 8 weeks, Sunset Sherbet recommended 9 weeks.
Most on the garden looks like this, 90-100% white pistols.
One Sunset Sherbet showing 60-70% orange pistols.
Current Veg Situation
I currently have a cut of each of my plants in Veg.
I haven’t had the time to manicure and they are getting carried away.
I plan to take a cut of each to choose Mothers after my smoke test of my current run and run my favorites on Oct. 4th
The mess on the right are my current Mothers.
The rest of the table is currently in Veg.
Current Questions
I’ve never made cuts to my plants in Veg and I’m seeking advice.
I’m hoping for some more opinions before I begin my flush and would appreciate any feedback !
Thank you all for tuning in !
I look for a cutting around 6 inches. Then I cut the stalk at 45°and straight into a jug of water to prevent an embolism. I trim everything off the bottom ⅔ and use a rooting gel rather than powder. Once dipped in the gel they go straight into a root riot cube, watered, misted and placed on a heat mat. I mist daily after that to prevent wilting. Then I keep an eye on them for new growth
Thank you for always responding !
I meant to mention the advice I’m looking for is for trimming the mothers. Also my plants in Veg to keep them under control until I flip them on the 4th.
Also, second opinions on if I’m ready to begin my flush.
I got in a motorcycle accident earlier this week, little discombobulated.
Thanks again everyone !
Gawd I hope your ok. The thing with bikes is everybody is trying to kill you and when you can no longer avoid the maniacs on the road and get hurt they always blame the biker. Ahh, are you thinking of a light defoliating or a fim/top idea. As for keeping the veg going I just keep the 16hr light cycle going then bump them to 12s as soon as I’m ready to flip. I don’t flush at all but I’m in soil and can’t remember what your medium is. As for responding I drift about like tumble weed so the trick is to keep tagging me or I get lost
Everything is looking good
I would go with half-dose ferts for another week and re-evaluate then still a lot of white pistols showing
Hows the trichomes looking? any amber yet
I’m alright, thank you my friend. Very sore but only so many riders get to walk. I was leaving my shop, parked on the side of the road. Sitting on the bike walking it towards entering traffic and a reckless driver hit me going about 60 in a 35. @Davyg
I am thinking of a bit of topping as my plants in Veg are getting lengthly.
I was also thinking of pushing another week as they are just beginning to show signs of amber.
Trichomes are looking clear to the naked eye but I don’t have a scope.
Looks like you avoided serious injury by a whisker. What is it with these screwballs doing speeds like that, jeez.
If you’re going to top then trim the top as per a cutting and do a trial cloning run. It’s so addictive, you will get hooked and if doesn’t work then you have lost nothing. Another week won’t do any harm as you’re heading in the right direction for your harvest as well. I would have a look for a scope of some sort. I would be lost without mine. X40 magnification or above would work. I tried a spy glass and it didn’t cut it. I also tried a loupe and that didn’t cut it either
I need to head my friend as it’s 23:11 here and I have a 5:15 rise in the morning. I will check in first thing though
Thank you for the info, I appreciate it !
I think I will extend my flowering cycle for at least a few days, then I’ll check back to decide if I want to go an extra week.
For anyone interested, a few pics from my accident.
Reckless driver, I’m blessed to walk and live.
Watch for motorcycles and ride safe everyone !
Look at those skid marks, guy’s an arsehole
Speaking of Defoliating,
I gave my Pops his first plant ever about a month ago. He calls me the other day and says “I don’t know if you’re going to love me or hate me, I trimmed the plant”
He said he seen on YouTube to trim the non-producing growth. I explained to him that the big leaves are not supposed to produce and I’m not sure how this is going to affect the plant.
Does anyone know a thing or two about what Pops has done so I can pass some information along or know what to expect ?
Also, I’d really appreciate a few more opinions on my flush situation ! @dbrn32 @Hellraiser @Underthestairs @RockClarke
As long as he made quick clean pulls or cuts i think it will be ok. There is still a decent amount of leaves there. If he didn’t stress the plant or leave it prone to infection you probably won’t even notice.
My dad retired year and a half ago and I got him into growing too. I was thinking it would keep him busy, but it ended up being like an additional side project for me.
I figured the same as it’s not a huge plant and there is a decent amount of foliage still. My Pops wants to get a few going next year so I gave him this one so he can start learning the process this year.
This is a fine display of Pops level of patience as I was only a call away
I decided to go ahead and continue running my Jacks at half strength to extend my cycle a few more days before I begin my flush.
Thanks everyone for tuning in !
