@Docnraq just remember if u mess up the dry like i did my first time (im on my second grow) just turn it into rso thag way nothing is wasted and u didn’t do all that work for nothing…drying is the scariest part and ina few weeks ill be doing the same hopefully its successful this time.
? I have been harvesting every 3 months since Feb of last year. Im good on my method. Dont let drying intimidate you. Its very simple, especially in a grow tent with humidity and temperature automation. Shoot for a 10-14 day dry @65%rh. The video I posted is a very good method, one I follow with great sucess. You can go a step further and for about 20 bucks on amazon get a wood moisture meter. Use it to determine when the dry is over. Ive not used one but I read that 13-15% is a good stoping point (couple threads here on the boards about using one). A tip for the curing process, dont use a Boveda pack right away, sweat the buds for 2 weeks then drop in a pack.
You are correct, messing up the cure is a one and done. However, If you dry too far and too fast your best bet is to just make it into edibles, not RSO. RSO is really a very dirty and potentially dangerous method of extraction. Isopropyl alchol is not only a polar solvent (which makes it pull chloraphyll as well as canabinoids) but is also very combustable. Consuming or smoking it is just not good for you. It will reap havoc on your digestive enzymes and gut bacteria and is very hard on your stomach lining. You would do alot better in final product and safe consumption to make an Booze tincture (QWET). Use 151 rum or even everclear in place of isopropyl alchol. Much safer to consume and less chloraphyll in final product. You can take it a step further and allow for evaporation of booze and dab final product or use the tincture to infuze sugar and make simple syrup with that sugar. Lemonade made this way is delish when mixed with iced tea. (Infused Arnold Palmer).
Im near new orleans and we have super high hummidty i had a ton of sucess using the wedryer for my first dry
@JustNikki whats this wedryer???
@Growsautos yeah thats y im freaking out i dont wanna screw this up…i have a camping tent im gonna use with a ac window unit and a humidifier . I have the little rectangular hydrometers to keep up with the humidity. My setup is in my shop ,my shop is too big to be able to have full control of the temperature with the ac so i am going to use an old camping tent so it is less area to control . The humidifier should be able to provide enough moisture when needed and the ac is just barely enough for my shop so im sure it will be able to get the tent around 60 degree . The humidity outside has been almost 100 ( close to Galveston) and temps close to 90 degrees …does this setup sound like it will work ???
We arent allowed to post links but it should pop up if you google it… its amazing and has a fan amd filter to help with temp air flow and smell.
You need to bring the humidity down to 60- 65%. And maintain that.
@Docnraq yeah i should have made that a little more clear i meant the ambient humidity outside of the shop …sorry that was my fault for not explaining better …the inside humidity would be maintained at a range of 58 to 62 %
Yeah i used everclear to make the rso not isopropyl and im going to buy the moisture meter and give it a shot…thanks for the dying advice cuz i dont wanna mess this up haha
Alil update 9 weeks Saturday about how much longer do you guys think b4 75/25 cloudy/amber thinking about doing 50/50 anyonr have any suggestions
Amber especially in pic 4/258 some people would harvest there, I wouldnt if it’s my only plant, I’d try another week. I’m harvesting one when it looks like that, the others Im letting go darker
I ended up cutting her down most of the buds looked like 4 but i tired to take a picture of some of the differences between the nugs…thanks for the information and she was my only plant atm…gunna start a few more ina week or 2 and im goin to try the solo cup challenge haha
