it’s pretty messed up i find. some say 8-9 weeks flowering. some say 8 weeks from seed. the devils im growing now say 65 days from seed. i find that real hard to believe as im halfway thru that count and im just entering flowering phase.
@Wildfire50210 did you do any cost analysis on your grow? Like without initial startup cost, lights, tents, pots etc. Say total cost of seeds, soil, electricity, and nutes vs weight of harvest?
Need to defoliate a lil getten unruly in there.
Got one of my girls that has a bit of clawing going on. Yesterday seemed good today grown a couple inches and this:
Its only on the tippy tops. @Covertgrower I was thinking maybe heat stress raise my light a lil? I looked briefly for causes of clawing and it was either that or overwatering. I did give a gallon of water/silica/and cal mag mix yesterday. Usually I give em a half gallon of liquid but I wanted to wash out the soil a lil bit since I have been using open sesame. Maybe let it dry out more b4 next watering and back off to the 1/2 gallon again? Last time I saw leaves clawing like that I had used water that was cold to water them
That’s excessive nitrogen. So probably just water a few times, but keep PK in there.
No I didn’t really do much cost analysis. I just kept throwing money at it and cost be damned we were going to succeed one way or another
. Made a few mistakes bought three different blurple lights and finally one HLG 600R. Went cheap on a Vivosun 4x4 tent but went overboard on AC infinity 8 inch intake & exhaust fans with controller sound suppressor and carbon filter. Changed our pots to fabric early on and bought lots of little extras like infrared thermometer to keep track of leaf temperature. Hard to tell on the electric bill it goes up this time of year for us when we start using the AC anyway should get some kind of gauge to read that. I’ll sit down and put together a list of everything we purchased. I’m sure will will be a couple grand but at least we have the materials now and actually have 14 leftover seeds of the GDP autos but want to try include different strains next time including a solid CBD option.
Yeah my power went up 60 bucks last month. Its like 117 outside now, its high no matter what.
For clarity. Keep using pk booster but no other nutes
Just a couple of waterings. Then put nitrogen back in.
Will the affected leaves straighten out?
Negative, they will remain the same.
@MrPeat you said once the chart has been explained its easier to use. Can we start there? Would you go over how to read the chart. I’ve gotten some success not really understanding it, I would like more. Understanding and success I mean.
@Docnraq Which ones do you have? What soil?
I used/ing FFOF start to finish. (Next grow will be FFHF for seedling/top couple inches then FFOF for rest, + perlite @ 30%) for nutes I am using the liquid grow big, big bloom, and tiger bloom. As well as the powder open sessame, beastie blooms, and cha ching. Outside the FF line I have botanicare brand silica blast and calmag.
@Docnraq I am not at home where my charts is at. So please be patient. I have both here. Takes forever to upload photos.!
I only use Happy Frog to top dress.
This is for FFOF. If its brand new, skip to the 4th to 6th week.
If depleted soil. This is hiw you would use their charts.
Seedling is the first range of nutrients. Look at the list of the names and you can see how much they say to use.
So 6 tsp of Big Bloom…no way. Way over board. I would do 1 tsp for 1 Gallon of water. You do this for a full week.
Look at the Column at the top for the number, 1. This will be the first full week once the seedling has broke surface.
It says 6 tsp of Big Bloom. That is aggressive. I would do 1 to tsp per gallon.
Look at the column for the number, 2.
They say once again 6 tsp Big Bloom and 2 tsp of Grow Big. Still to aggressive. I would do 2 tsp Big Bloom and 1 tsp Grow Big.
Look at the column for the number, 3. Rinse and repeat till you are done.
If brand new soul skip to 4 to 6. Because there is enough nutrients to last you that long.
If you want to Veg longer, you use the Week 4 amounts. Same with Week 12. If it goes longer just use week 12 till you are done.
With FF Nutrients you usually don’t use more than 1/2 of what they say till the plant and flowers are big.
PPM is your TDS meter if you have one. If you use the total amount say for Week 4, your meter should read close to what they have as PPM.
I hope this helps. Ask if its confusing.
It does help. I didn’t understand those top figures at all, which had me feeling very sheepish about what I’ve been doing. I have been doing about 3/4 dose. Think I’ll back down to 1/2.
Do you follow the flushing schedule as well?
No worries on reply time. You mentioned you were selling fireworks, I imagine you are quite busy. Thanks for taking the time.
@Docnraq Yes I do follow it.
Having a lil issue with Fialova. Her strain is unknown as I ordered Bruce Banner Auto, and she is purple. So not Bruce Banner.
Sprouted on May 5th.
18/6 schedule since birth
Temps are between 78F and 83F degrees day time and 74F-76F night temps (maybe even as low as 72F)
Humidity 45%-55%
Soil ph came in at a 6 but I don’t think I was able to dig deep enough to get a good sample for slurry.
Runnoff PH: see below
Light (marshydro fc-3000) is approx 16 to 18 inches away from cannopy at 100%
She looked a lil ruff two days ago when I feed, so I caught that runoff . She was fed with 1/2 dose of FF big bloom, grow big, tiger bloom, open sesame, and calmag ph’d to 6.77 with 980ppm dissolved solids came out at 5.62 and 971ppm dissolved solids.
Today was water, silica, and calmag I ph’d to 6.8 and the dissolved solid was 169ppm) she looked ruff so I decided to catch the runoff which came out at a ph of 5.37 and dissolved solid count of 480 ppm.
@Covertgrower tag you for help cuz your awesome! @MrPeat tag you for help since I know you know FF nutes. And anyone else who might help, I think I will need to flush the soil but I figured I’d ask before I just did it. Without this board I’d be hosed
thanks for help(s)
She maybe thirsty for nutrients. As they flower you need to adjust accordingly. Bigger she is, the more nutrients you need.
So at the next feeding go larger then 1/2 dose? Should I be concerned at the low PH the runnoff is coming out at?
I have never worried about pH myself. As they get bigger you need to adjust. The more you grow, the easier it is to anticapte and use the right amount of nutrients. ![]()
