I figured it was a nft system , dwc or rdwc might have been easier for your first grow have you grown lettuce or anything else in that system

Yeah it’s NFT. If cotyledons are dead or dying you definitely need to add food. Start with 1/4 dose of seedling rate on your brand feed schedule.

Is my watering schedule set okay at 30 minutes every 4 hours, you think?

Your roots are growing and white so start feeding 1 quarter tsp per gallon of each,do the micro first and make sure it is mixed well before doing grow and bloom and one tsp per gallon of cal-mag per gallon keep it set at the same drip interval for now
Yeah your schedule is fine I think. Just add the nutes like I said and you should be fine.
