I’m feeding general organics, at a 1/4 reccomeded per gal
Every third watering is nutes, every 3 days I water
I’d hit it with 1,000 to 1,100 to boost the nutrients right away then lower it to 900 before it loads up and eventually overloads. I almost certain they’re getting too much water and not enough nutrients. I use Farfard top soil with perlite and 900 PPM, and they thrive.
That sounds like a good regiment but higher nutrients for feeding day. It’s always a look’n’see and adjust until things look healthy.
So, give 100% nutes and get it to 1000 over a cpl feedings? Then back it down a lil?
Yeah I’ve been kinda doing the look and see, this is my first see something wrong.
To avoid misinterpretations feed it 1,100 PPM on your feeding day then back it down and take into consideration that it takes 3 to 4 days to see the results and adjust accordingly, if they green up and get healthy, back off to 900 PPM and see in another 3 to 4 days the result, to goal is to zero it in on the nutrient requirements without over doing it. They need a booster shot which if continued without reprieve would over fertilize thereby toxifying the soil. The key is to replace the nutrients without depletion or overloading.
So my water and nutes mix should be 1,100 going in ? Again sorry. Newbie here
No sweat, I’m saying they need a boost above what you’ve been feeding them, however there are parameters, I use heptahydrates *7H20 (extremely soluble and fast acting) if your nutrients are slower acting the likelihood of buildup increases and more caution and patience should be used in determining the futility of the soil. I don’t wanna see you over do it, nor under do it, that’s why it takes time and patience, it’s not like spray painting them green! I wish it was that easy!
My question is 1,100 ppm going into plants? Or is that the run off ppm?
What shatter is saying is yes get ppm up to 1100 in your feed solution and then feed them that. Also check your Ph of the feed mix to before feeding.
If you feed to run off check the run off ppm and Ph too and write it down in your journal what all those numbers were to reference that at next feed
Rinse and repeat…lol
And to think sum people just think they ll grow in anything
Thanks, got it now, think I’ll use nutes at 3/4 recommended strength, I just watered today so have to wait a couple days now to feed
If I may suggest to fill your bucket or whatever with the appropriate amount of water needed to water them all and then add 1/4 of nutes and test the ppm…
Then if not around 1100 add another 1/4 nutes and test again…rinse repeat until you have approximately 1100 ppm.
This way you will scale it up and know how much to add to that particular amount of water and moving forward as the base amount of water needed increases as they grow bigger you can use the above info and math to be able to add the proper amount of nutes moving forward.
At least that is what I would do if I needed to add nutes to my water.
Don’t forget to also check the Ph after getting the nutes to approximately 1100 and adjust then if needed to be within range.
Hope this helps and HAGD
Awesome ty, that’s the complete answer I was looking for. I’m watering tomorrow, maybe a day early, but they are looking hungry
