@PogueMahone Yes, yes. I had 2 cups of both made up, the 4 and the 7, and did both, twice. At least twice. In the 7 solution it stopped at 6.89 and refused to go higher so I could hit calibrate. Good thought though. I just dek what happened to it. It’s not physically damaged and I traded out the batteries twice.
Their light goes out at 11, so if anybody wants to affirm what I would do if I did try to get it flushed with my shower before then, speak now or everything will wait til 5am.
@1HappyPappy It’s the soil is the problem. I have fed the other 5. But the soil is what I used last grow because what I bought for this grow were infested with all manner of large creepy crawlers so I cleaned up the old and transplanted them. I didn’t think to flush that old, only did my Slurry on each just before their transplant. So they got the flowering nutes in them.
Basically all a fush does is wash away the TDS (total dissolved soilds) in the medium.
Using distilled is best because it has zero TDS in it but the goal of a flush is to get the medium washed down to a low level.
This is why I said if you tap water at home is 200ppm or lower it will work fine. It cant get your soil down to 0 ppm but 200ppm is basically nothing so low enough.
Now, sometimes we may want to try and raise or lower ph of a medium by flushing.
And this can be successful sometimes if things are out to bad.
Am i reading this correctly? Did you mean to put pH up? I may be confused…
If you’re testing your water and it reads 7.2 then you want to add pH down to get it to 6.5.
Add all your nutrients together, then pH your solution down to 6.5 and feed it to her. Doesnt matter what or where it starts at before your nutrients only where it is before you give it to her.
You can literally cook it in the oven and its good as new.
Lots of people do this. Put whatever you need in something safe to put in the oven and bake it between 200-300° for 20-30mins and nothing will be left alive it in but it will not hurt the nutrients in it at all.
@PhatPat if I am giving them a drink of pH water then I have to use the pH Down. But once Nutrients are in the mix I have to bring it up. Orange for a drink and blue for a meal.
This is what I do. FloraMicro into water. Then FloraGro. And then FloraBloom. Then goes in the CalMag. Shaking up good after each addition, before adding the next. When all that is done the pH is too high so I bring it down. But, and know that I’ve the 5 once and watered all once to runoff. That’s the only 2x I’ve give them anything except spray pH and maybe 2 cups of pH into the top soil.
They’ve only been in their forever pots for coming up on like 6 weeks ±. I put them into the bags on 11/30. On 12/23 they were all good, but seemed not as big as I’d have thought. On 12/30 I really noticed that they were all about a month behind what they should be and they were all growing at different paces where last time they stayed together. And the 2 OB’s were sickly, 1 more so than the other. I been trying to figure it out since then.
I see now. My pH starts high like 7.3. After i add my nutrients its still above 6.5 so i have to use pH down still. Youre saying after you mix all your nutrients its below 6.5 so you have to use pH up. I read it that you were pHing your water before adding your nutrients…
That’s it. Well below the 6.5. But the time I’ve done it with these Nutes it wasn’t as low as it was last time. Last time I had to add like one if those long hollow baby medicine spoons full to each gallon. Idk what the thing is called and I’ve lost it but I think it help like 3tsp. This time it was 2 or 3 drops was all. Last time I never opened my bottle of pH down and used 2.5 bottles of the pH up. I was prepared for it this time and bought the gallon size. And won’t need it. Imagine that.
So I did flush it and I took 7 samples throughout. The 1st was EC 0956 or 8, I can’t read my writing, PPM 0423, temp was 68°F.
The last one was 67.2°F, EC was 0232, PPM was 0116.
But there’s a lot less dirt in the bag now, so I guess that since the dirt is really this thick, black, nasty, almost clay-like consistency, I should add quite a bit of Perlite and then I will fill it with fresh Scott’s Top Soil. Will that be alright? Should I put nutrients into the soil or just some pH water or nothing at all? She does have a taproot on her so she is fighting. Idt she was, but must be with that root so long, it’s not a bad color either, not a good color but not bad either. She is currently in the tent with her sisters and Ima finish my floors and check back once more tonight to see any advice that might be here and then going to bed. Tomorrow is a new day. G’night Moon.
