I hate caterpillars

Neem oil can give the buds a nasty taste. Think on that as well.

Yes don’t spray on plant in flower or with fruit if you are going to harvest in the next few weeks never spray anything on buds that goes with out saying. If you have a bug problem once the buds are showing there is not much you can do.
I spray my plants one week before I switch to 12/12 and then a week after just in case there are bugs I cant see.
I got mites at work once and now I am very careful and after doing a green house pests course for work and seeing how many little buggers like common growing practices prevention is the key.

Lol, the HPS has turned them a crazy yellow color. Will try and catch a photo tomorrow. Can usually fine one, I have two. They are quite territorial, and split the room, so not hard to distinguish, but they can be hard to find lately without rotating plants

Bug Blaster worked 100% the first time for me. It wasn’t a bad infestation… well I guess any at all is very worrisome. That has neem oil in it.

I had diamataceous earth sprinkled around the ground of my outdoor plants, but one still got what looked like spider mites.

So I doused it with this, it’s gamma-cyhalothrin, which is some kind of organic compound that mimics the chemical chrysanthemums use to kill insects, is supposed to be completely safe for plants. I guess it works, no more holes!

You can apply Diatomacious Earth with water…
mix 4 tablespoons of DE (food grade only) with a gallon of water…shake till dissolved…spray the stems and tops and bottoms of the leaves…
Once it dries, it becomes effective and kills bugs.

Use a salt shaker to distribute the powder on the soil.

We have thousands, maybe millions, of small caterpillars crawling everywhere in our yard…I sprayed gallons of a Safer product around a few days ago…

Rain is supposed to help…high humidity promotes a fungus that attacks the caterpillars…and my area had been in a drought, perfect conditions last year for the attack.
It’s raining now with a week more of rainy weather…I love the rain.

The caterpillars will float in the air on strands of caterpillar silk, land on people and cause a rash that can last a few weeks.
