How is this known to be true for quality? Quantity of flowers is the opposite of my concerns.
Hey I know I’m late to the party on answering. I skimmed through all the answers.
You’re running out of horizontal space, is my assumption.
I think a potential solution is to prune the side branches. Instead of trying to stunt the autos at set time, which would work if you can do it, why not let them grow and just prune a lot of the side growth, so it doesn’t get crowded?
Correct, Dan. Also concerned about an even canopy, but that is very low on the list and can be trained as needed.
Thoughts on, or other than, removing the first two nodes a few weeks in to accomplish this? And how late is too late to lop off branches since I don’t care about quantity?
Regardless of topping, this is currently my plan next round.
@Mosca
Love the little dude on the side there with the bell. that is cool…
Your ppm/Coco references have no context for me…I’ve never dealt with either, but the plant looks pretty good for 21 days
@Mozzy. Each stage has target range thats supposed to be optimum ppm for that phase.
1/4 strength nutes for seedling 200 to 250 ppm. My Bruce is fast auto, 70 days finished.
Veg to flower phase i target 800 ppm.
I use Zero Water filter, i start with 6 ppm or less. I use jacks321. City tap water coul be 300, ppm to start with. Hard to give a seedling proper nutes. Simple. Mix half gallon or what is needed. TDS pen, cheap one works. Total Dissolved Solids. Measures the ppm of your nutes mixed. pH nutes to desired range. Im coco, 5.8 is my happy, soil is 6.5 to 6.8 target range. I take zeroed water and dilute the nutes to desired ppms. If my half gal of jacks measures 2000 ppm. Half gal zero water pHed correct added should bring nutes to 1000 ppm and so.
One year in, finally applying the easy math to push for the potent grow. If i can help, im in the cellar here, Beans and Buds for breakfast Off Topic. I have friends in low places.
Very nice, thanks!
That’s almost exactly what iv found to work best for me. This is my first jacks run.
840ppm in, 1040 out, ph 5.8. I mix up 10 gallons at a time. 30 days old from seed. Bubba kush ILGM.
Those look healthy.
…I know people are successful buying new things to use and with various methods, but I cannot imagine what would motivate me to use or buy anything other than organic soil and something to roughly PH my tap water, to grow with indefinitely.
I’m growing about as simply and organic as I reasonably can, producing flowers for personal use that are better than what I could buy at dispensaries…for what feels like almost free since I’m already way past recouping start-up costs in what I’ve harvested.
I’m always open to feedback for improving, but I’ve never seen anyone describe a simpler, easier, or more organic way to grow than I am already doing…my only true current issue that I am trying to tweak for going forward is a smaller size of plants (from my seeds, in my environment) so I can fit an extra in my tent for usage variety
I love organics!! Iv done organic autos for 2 years. Very happy with them. I agree organic truly is simple…
