Yours will look like mine in no time…
First off use smaller 1 gallon grow bags instead of the bigger sizes.
1st off growing weed is kindergarten work, the real work starts after harvesting then the hard work begins, people tried to get me to grow more, but as I been growing, I don’t need to grow 10 - 15 plants at a time, I listened to them and grew way too much , ended up throwing a lot of it away when it gotten too dry, that’s where the work is, you have to have my tent constantly running 1 after another, when 2 plants are harvested I put in another 2 , learned a lot from your uncle Ed Rosenthal, reading his books back in the late 80s growing in 89, plants are easy but growing them under the radar is hard,
I use foxfarms soils, they already have the nutes in them that last 4 weeks or so. I usually transplant once, so the nutes are covered for up to 8 weeks if I plan it out that way. But I do use nutes in my grows. I havent used GroBuckets, do they do well?
They are awesome so far…basically foolproof with decent soil and topping off as needed with mid 6s PH tap-water (aired out for chlorine). I had this guy I almost pulled on Day 23 when it was only 2” tall…and I just supercropped it when it when it was 53 Days old and 40” from the soil :
love late bloomers
GNC at 70, LDZ at 68, and PNG at 71 days…I’m still thinking maybe topping and removing the first couple nodes about a month in might be what I need to keep 4 plants small and spaced out enough in my 2x4 for the next run with my conditions.
Hoping the PNG finishes up soon so I can harvest it and space out the other two, especially since the LDZ is bulking up so much that most of the branches want to flop over from the weight of the forming buds:
Your grow should do better in cloth bags, vice plastic buckets.
Sadly, I have a source for buckets, but 3-gal (keeping it small, or 5-gal) cloth bags grow better.
IMO
Awesome grow from pictures above.
Thank you. I have grown from cloth bags, but unfortunately they make my humidity issues worse, and they were the worst for watering for me with the side-runoff issues too.
SIPs have been almost dummy-proof for watering and since I grow with just soil and water, they seem about perfect at this point. I’m always open to feedback and suggestions though as I’ve been mainly self-taught from reading and trial/error to this point.
Hadn’t considered this, but you’re probably correct.
I am trying to become a reformed over-waterer, and they do dry faster.
Never considered they add to RH in the tent, as they must.
Thanks for the thought, shared.
True, so I try bottom watering.
You bottom-water only (starting at what point in the grow cycle?), autoflowers from seed, in organic soil?
If so…using what method/do you have a journal?
Smaller pots smaller plants. I mean u can still get a decent plant from a solo cup lol give a half gallon or 1 gallon fabric pots a try and see what that brings. Bigger root zone means bigger plant usually. I’d start wil a 1 gallon pot and see if that is still to big cut it down to like a 3 quart pot then half gallon of needed smaller. Smaller plants should give u a little more potent and flavorful return also.
Should I complete a method successfully, I would share.
Embarrassingly, I swing both ways.
I have better looking ladies with bottom watering but am unsure if
[Mycorrhiza - like no food
so, occasionally i top feed unsulfured molasses.
My thread has my time on ILGM with contributions from members.
4/2022 thru recent. So much learned and still so much to learn.
I confess to being a less than responsible grower.
Last years effort to obtain freedom from seed shortage, I got seed from my boys.
Also used the outdoor grow for summer plant orgy.
Bag seeds are cool, for now. ILGM sent me the ones I wanted, needed and have for when I get this growing routine to work, well, consistently. Sharing my bag seeds at 50-100 ct is less painful. I share.
Couldn’t answer if Aoto/photos because of multiple reasons. Mostly I run tent (s) 11/13Off
avoiding heat or load issues.
Surviving me is an accomplishment for any plant in my custody.
One yr growing, autos only. Since soil is priority for you, that leaves lights . i found our 2nd grow on 2 plants was smallest harvest, 5 zips, was basically 12/12 light schedule. We have not used DLI. I thought 12 hr veg/flower kept them shorter
3 other grows between 3 to 4 zips. Upto 16 hrs light. Since 2nd, increasing hrs on has increased our harvest.
Good luck, love to hear a progress report down the road.
After just completing my first grow ever using a 4’ x 3’ grow tent. I grew 4 plants and what I found is 4 is to many for that size tent. Moving forward I will stick with 2 only. I do not recommend stunting their growth because it seriously effects the quality and quantity of the flowers.
So with auto flower I was under the impression that it didn’t matter how many hours of light they received. The plant controlled veg/flower on its own. Is that not true? I am not familiar with the term “zips”, what does that mean?
Street term for ounces.
A zip lock bag full… ZIPS
Thank you. I learn something new everyday.
That is true on lighting. Some have done 24 hrs on. I would think a poll of auto growers would have 18/6 very popular.
We just try to observe what we do, what we get and make the right corrections next time.
If i wanted smaller and 2 ounces basically, i would train the best colas,
Choice colas, give me the space and training for that recipie.
We have a Fast Auto Bruce Banner, 70 days, she’s a Hulkette.
3rd week. 800ppm twice a day now. Coco.
