How to prepare stone bought potting soil?

All fertilizer are chemicals, even water is a chemical.

" What is a chemical simple definition?

A chemical is any substance that has a defined composition. In other words, a chemical is always made up of the same “stuff.” Some chemicals occur in nature, such as water. Other chemicals are manufactured, such as chlorine (used for bleaching fabrics or in swimming pools)."

I understand you meant chemical as in a substance thats been purified and is in crystal form (aka salt) just wanted clarify for future readers that may associate chemicals in a negative way

I’m just starting to gather stuff to start composting and farming worms. The soil we have at our new home is trash and i tried buying soil but that gets expensive fast trying to fill raised beds
I hope next year I can make my own, I’ve got lots of “recycled forest products” i just need compost and lots of worms

Diatomaceous Earth or D.E. is all natural and will prevent gnats in the soil. Just sprinkle on the surface and scratch in or mix some in the soil before use. It also helps to keep the soil “loose” so that it absorbs the water even when very dry.

Is that really a thing?
I see bats here at night around a street light.
Can i build something that would attract them to the inside
Im in the city now so i cant have any chickens, but bats would be wild

Try to build around outside night light where attract moths bugs flying around it

Bat Houses. We have one of the largest gray bat populations in the US around here.( weve got 16 species of bats). Ive gotten ideas on building bat houses and collecting their quano. They will be on 15 to 20 foot poles with collection bins at the very bottom sitting on the ground. Itll take awhile to collect and process, but itll be fresh and itll be local.

If you choose to use DE, make sure to apply in a well ventilated area. Its very fine and produces a dust that can be inhaled.

Correct. It is basically the same as powdered glass. It works by cutting up the gnat larvae before they can mature as well as causing dry conditions on the surface that they cannot breed in. :desert:
It can damage your lungs and nasal passages if inhaled. :skull_and_crossbones:

Yea you can look at DE under magnifying glass it looks like fiber glass and as @HMGRWN saying it does work well for gnats but i used it on spider mites and it didn’t phase them
