My 4x4 is running at around 45% humidity but I’d like to up it to around 50 to 50% for now as they are only 2 weeks only.
All my autos are quite happy now and passed seedling stage technically just fine but I just feel like 45% is a little low?
I’d rather not invest in a humidifier but what are your thoughts? Is there a way to easily raise it? Should I raise it? Should I just buy a humidifier lol
Here’s a photo of one of the beauties from yesterday…
Not sure what the weather is like there, but for me turning down the exhaust fan speed and reducing ventilation keeps mine over 50%, the struggle is getting it down
They are in coco, perlite, worm castings and grow dots. I notice the humidity does go up when I water but theyre small so I’m not watering too much yet… I think once they grow I’ll need to lower the humidity.
It’s very humid and hot here but were growing in a spare room and the house has central a/c. The humidity in the house is around 55 to 60 and we keep the ac at 73F… tent seems to be 40 to 45 humidity… temps inside around 77…
The exhaust is on low right now, 2 fans and we do have the screens on the bottom and one vent open for fresh air to come in…Should I up the exhaust and close one of the bottom vents?
You can spritz the inside of the tent with water, also a bowl of water may help. If it’s within your budget at some point a humidifier is always needed. Just don’t think you will get your humidity up where it should without it.
5 gal bucket and a towel. Fill the bucket 3/4 full with water put the towell in the water. Get it completely wet. Pull out about 12 inces of the towel and slightly wring it out. Drape that over the side about 3/4 the way down. Put a tray under it to catch water. It helps if you have a fan aimed in its general direction.
So i know you didnt ask about this, but it happened to me before and i learned the hard way. If possible, separate those two that are sharing the pots. The roots will intertwine and end up making it rather difficult to deal with later as well as quite thenshock/stress to the plants. If you plan on keeping them together, they could be totally different phenos and look like this:
Lol I do plan to cull one of them. They have issue and are more of an experiment at this point. I wrote more about them here. Should I cull them? - #18 by gembudz
I got my humidifiers at Walmart for 10 bucks a piece. They weren’t listed for sale, just the only ones I could find and asked a girl to price check. Got both if them.Aybe you could find a deal like that. Or I have one for sale for 10 bucks + shipping. Lol! Also, you might try closing your ac vents off in that room. Put some foil over them so you won’t have the cool in there at all.
Absolutely. Love the forum so far, nobody seems to be a condescending know it all and overall everyone has been super helpful and welcoming! I will look into a humidifier with a setting to turn on and off at a certain % so we have some control over it especially for future grows.
I’m a rookie myself, next grow would be #5. And you are absolutely right, this group is some of the best growers from all over the world. I am always learning and they are always willing to give some instructions to make us successful growers. It’s great!
