How to build RDWC system

No worries , I never even got to see your comment and it wouldn’t have bothered me if I did…
I’m just trying to figure out your system , I think its pretty nifty…
As far as what you name it , you can name it whatever you like …
I just thought you were explaining a ebb and flow system because I couldn’t really tell by looking at your pictures…
Either way , I thought it was a cool setup and I was just trying to figure out how it works…

I’m going to tag along

is there any way to do a DWC and not have RO water?
will tap water kill the plants in a DWC system?

No, just check PPM of water before mixing then add that to the total plus let chlorine in tap water off-gas for 24 hours before using.

This is what I use. 2.5ml per 5gal of water.

There’s a lot of places in the country where the municipal water supply is really good. If it’s under 200 ppm with no chloramines you can use with hydro. In my area however; my base muni water is 550! It’s too high to do anything with because as stated the total amount of dissolved solids in hydro have to include this number. In my case I want to veg at around 750 to 800 ppm which means over half of that value would be in the water. Not good.

I’m fortunate that mine is under 100. More like 56ppm
