How many hours of light?

Hello to all happy hippies and green thumb growers! So today i want to find out what everyones light schedules are for auto flowers only please! I only run 12 12 from seed and average yeild of 1 oz to 7 or 8 oz per plant all depends on the phenos which are very inconsistent with autos, should i keep my light on for more hours will it really help more then im already getting?

Responses on this since I’ve been here seem to be all over the place. Some seem to have good luck running them just like photos, 18/6 til pistils then 12/12. I believe I’ve seen others post that they do good just like you, 12 hours start to finish. Yet others claim best results running 16-18 hours of light start to finish.

Since all seem to be reasonable methods for autos, maybe try a couple different ways and see if you can get to a little more consistency? Sometimes best method for you may differ from best for someone else.

Welcome to the forum @Kroncaddycustoms! I was not planning on growing autos for my first grow but do to a mistake I received and plant them. When I found out that I had autos I did a lot of reading on autoflower dot net and I found the consensus was 18/6 was best. I’m sticking with that this grow. Next grow I may try something different.

I just decided to try the 12 12 from seed while my brother did the same strain on 18 6 and mine were believe it or not way better ! Heres a super skunk auto finished in 10 weeks from seed at 7 oz roughly and it was 12/12 ! Awsome to see everyones green thumb

I forget where, but I read somewhere that with autos some strains do better with different lighting schedules than others. The breeder was listing “run 18/6 throughout” or “does best under 16/8.” Not that it helps your question much, but I thought it was interesting. I wish I had bookmarked it.

I have two and kept lights 24 when under 3 inches, then on 18/6. It works good for me. I planted them about a month apart. Both are awesome autos in fox farm and their products.

As this is my first grow, its just been my observation to what’s looked best for me. Just because I’m good at screwing things up, autos seem to be Me proof. I started 24/0, then after about a few weeks cut back to 18/6. I didn’t see any growth difference on the switch. Started preflowering less than a week ago and noticed my plants drooping a few hours before lights out, so been working my way down to 16/8, 30 minutes every day. They just look like they are tired/resting, so I dont see a need for the lights to be on. After lights out period, the are up and perky again. So my opinion from my grow is, I don’t think more light is necessarily more growth. They seem to rest and grow on their own.

It’s normal for them to droop a little at bed time.
