Alot of times people have no idea what actually caused a plant to hermit and they have a lil led and blame it all on that but dont tell you they grab there plants out the room at lights out and dance the night away and do photoshoots lights out… hot temps cold temps over under watering rh spikes any kind of stress can cause herms I’d say a tiny usually green led (green lights are used as nightlights in grow rooms for after hours work) @peachfuzz has green bulbs in his room for this reason so I’d doubt 1 single green led would do anything but that’s what ppl hear and they put all blame on that when there telling half truths they dont even realize are waaay more stressful
One of these urban myths…
Sudden changes will surely do it to ya as sudden changes in most conditions will do it to ya but u gotta take the moon and street lights into consideration I’ve grown out side in the city plenty of outside night light no herms 6 different strain outside no issue … moon is along lines of 1 diode comparible sun to moon main light source to single diode…
Green light will induce hermaphroditism just the same as red or blue, if the plant is sensitive to light induced hermaphroditism. There are many cannabis plants that exhibit hermaphroditism naturally, without any stress. And there are some that really resist hermaphroditism, even with reversing agents. It’s tough to make broad generalizations about what cannabis will and won’t do, and such statements can lead newer growers to make mistakes.
Your statement has no clarity to a new grower what so ever … there’s no warning label that says something will or won’t happen in this strain you gotta try it and learn with any grow strain to strain plant to plant is quite different…generally swings in spike in any condition can cause it this is VERY TRUE and Gene’s can cause it so what did I say that wasent true and what did you say that is I gave a general rule of thumb but there in no garuntee in canabis… 99.9g female…person got a male the other day…some one got herms the other day… could he a fluke could be operator error… I’m not engaging with you… u speak inverse square like a noob will understand you explaining science with science u confuse me and i understand you… your statement equally as wrong and state inverse square is the reason and u still mention it could be no fault all together… so more or less try and see is what your saying because some will and some wont…right
Some will fall to the inverse square some wont… which one @KeystoneCops u talk down to ppl not on your …science degree…and you contradict yourself in most statements …
Of course there not I feel you dont either just because the relativity of intensity varies in millions of miles in hps to the sun …yes it’s TRUE 30 m away ur intensity drops bit our aren’t 30 meters away and the umols per joule of an hps at close enough lvls is a denser light then the sun so are my leds in lumen, unmold, mol… applying to dli you can manipulate this with extended hours has nothing to do with suns position with dli because u can’t move sun 60 to 70 dli max in a day for sun you can smash that you can smash the lumens easily …u can smash light density in ppfd… which one do you not use to measure light because those are the leading ways to measure light in photometrics I’ll go science just for my point but your wrong saying inverse square is the make or break…then u go to Gene’s…which one is it… inverse square might apply to the intensity of the single diode to a whole grow lamps intensity but dosent apply to hermaphroditeism because I have never taped a single led power light on acts lights fans Simultaneously … it was the same …grow in grow out never had a single herm or only 6 males out of 350+ plants which were only from seeds never a herm shift…I had a bunch of inverse square
192 plants same room 12 different steains y didn’t my perpetual bag seed get this issue I have crap Gene’s I never bought a seed in my life …if you can tell me y so definitely and scientificly… tell me why not in my case with complete…inverse stylento your advice with 0 issue please elaborateThis is getting to be confrontational. Modify your tone please. There is a proper way to hold a discourse and you aren’t hitting it.
I recant I will engage someone’s got to ur trying to dismiss everyone else response but your own which is not a relevant law of hermaphroditeism … if nothing can cause it for sure then nothing can not effect it for sure … for such high IQ I dont understand y ur close minded to such a relevant inverse number in my case to what your saying
Can u imagine this room… lights went out at 11pm outside light leaks under the doors were alot more then a single led…which also was in there on the ac unit…
How about this grow… this was a room in an efficiency with NO DOOR you think I lived in complete darkness? No
These plants started in darkness then went outside why didn’t they herm with street light literally 30 feet away in the city I can’t relate to 1 law for this issue it’s … majority was consistent conditions and climate …all were bag seed 0 reputable Gene’s…never ever bought a single seed what did I do right to get 0 herms your contesting answer completely circumvents everything i do with alternate results then you state WILL HPPEN
@Myfriendis410 sorry I will back off
I know what it postulates…
I had to read up to follow a conversation I
Once had with a guy that was postulating love follows the inverse inverse square law, the more you reach out the stronger it gets…
And i would bet it is save to say a plant will not herm because of a light source, that has an intensity/strengt/spectrum(whatever you want to call it) equal or lower to the moon…
What realy matters is what reaches the surface of the planet/plants.
now obviously the sun is a bazillion times stronger than my hps but if i measure the lumens of both on my plants, my hps is more intense.
Why?
because of inverse square…
NASA and Oxford both measure plant response from green light. Unless you have something shareable that would contradict them, I would assume 1 green led has potential to make a plant go hermaphrodite. For every member or grower that can be pointed to using green light without interrupting light cycle, there is one that was unsuccessful in doing so. While I agree that this is only one of a number of potential reasons, when plants go herm it is necessary to investigate and correct ALL of the reasons it may have happened.
Using moonlight or outdoor light pollution is not fair argument because it usually seems bright, but there is generally not any measurable intensity in the par region.
I’m just not gonna go on about a subject that has so many variables I’ve never had a herm with tons of different stresses… I can only say I haven’t had any from power lights and I have them in every grow that’s my 2 cents
I’ll put this out there… I have absolutely caused my plants to spit out nanners due to light leaks in my tent during dark hours. I see it happen quite often when growing indoors. Just my .02 from personal experiences. Not discounting other people’s experiences either. Every grow, plant, environment is different ![]()
