How do I get my buds to increase in size?

I am a newbie and don’t know how to make my girls have bigger buds… Confused as to what my next steps are and how soon before I harvest

Try to give us a little more info, like what strains, what week they’re in, what kind of grow light or lights, type of soil, if your feeding nutrients to them.

White widow auto flower and I planted March 9. I’ve been using the nutrients that come along with ILGM packages… Planted in fox farrm soil This is my first time growing and I only plantedi in a 3 gallon mesh pot… That was a mistake of course

First of all welcome to a great forum. Peeps here are great at sharing their knowledge and theres a lot of that here :sunglasses:.
Lighting plays a big part in your yield. Another factor is an increase in PK values during your flower stages. Your nutes will have NPK values on the label. A quick check will give you the low down of what each does. The PK values are what helps feed the flowers and ultimately among other things boost your yield.

Thx. Not sure what PK factor is. Like I said I am a newbie… Just learning lol.

Not entirely convinced that’s a mistake right there, might be a wrong choice at the very most :sunglasses:. People don’t learn if they don’t make mistakes. A lot of us on here have made their fair share, myself included. It’s how we learn :sunglasses:

Have a read through this, it will help give you an idea of what’s going on when you add nutrition to your soil :sunglasses:.

For autos 3 gallons are fine.
What lights are you using?
Better Lights will up your game and your plants bud size and density etc. light is a big part of how they grow right

Short answer… low stress, perfect nutes, and most importantly the best light you can afford.

Flowers put on a bunch of weight and size during the last weeks. So patience. I have grown ten white widow autos. I think the earliest to harvest was 88 days but most of them took around 100 to 115 days. Good lights are critical to producing good buds. Cannabis is a high light need type of plant. Lets assume you have a full spectrum LED light. A very general rule of thumb for them is power consumption (watts) per square foot. The minimum ratio is 30 watts / sq ft. The recommended is closer to 50. So if you have a 2x2 tent you need 4x30=120 watts at the minimum to grow weed. This will grow weed but not of the highest quality. On the other end, if your light draws 200 watts (66% increase in the amount of power) you are able to grow some serious dense buds. Check to see what your light draws at the wall and divide it by the size of your space.

It is a Giixer LED 1000 watt

consuming only 110 watts is the answer. It would have to be off the charts efficient to only draw 110 watts and flower cannabis. Way under powered to even grow more than one auto. I use a 130w full spectrum for veg only. I have another 130w light on one small auto plus I have a 2nd 32w led and a 50 flower bar on it. She is a WWA, barely 18" but has solid buds on day 87

You will get a lot of great help here, however there is some due diligence needed on your part. Here you can find the grow bible, down load it and read it solid info in there. Being told how to grow vs reading and implementing is two different styles with the latter of the two always being the best. Immerse yourself into some pod casts, there are some great ones out there, here are a few that I recommend:

Grow from your heart
The dude grows show
Shaping fire
Grow cast

Every grower has a certain style and it can only be found by the grower him/herself trying new techniques, that’s the joy in cultivation. Knowing the basics though is a solid must and that comes from you. Grab the bible and have a listen to the shows and you’ll be well on your way in no time. Good Luck!

Yeah, that 110 watt light is going to be your limiting factor, need some decent lighting for big dense buds and good yields.
