I need help understanding how to flush your plants.

  1. How big should your water basin to catch the run off.
  2. How do you dispose of the water in the basin.

Whenever I’m doing a flush I pour 1gal through at a time and test the ph/ppm numbers. I dispose of the water after each gallon so all the water runoff doesnt mix together giving you false readings. I just pour the runoff down the drain after each pour.

If I’m doing a flush then I pull the plant out of the tent or room and place it onto a metal rack of some sort and sit the rack on top of a tub.

What about you are just watering your plants inside your tent.

I have my plants sitting on a big plastic tray(washing machine drip pan) and they all get watered at the same time. I have an irrigation manifold with water lines running to each pot. The runoff all mixes together and drains but I dont check my runoff numbers anymore unless I’m seeing an issue. You’ll get to the same way about runoff once you get your confidence in reading a plant.

I wouldnt worry about building an irrigation system yet. If I was you I would continue to water by hand.

Are you pulling your plants out of the tent every time to water and your tired of do it that way or what?

I am just trying to buy what I need to start a grow. I have been doing this for over a year

The way I do it makes it all mix together. Is that something your not wanting to happen or are you ok with all the runoff coming together in one tub?

I’m ok with it. I just want to copy someone else. I don’t want trial and fail

I can’t pull my plants out for flushing (SCROG) so I just use big saucers to catch the runoff from my fabric pots then use a giant syringe to remove the water.

Just google “washing machine drain tray”.
Something like this was 22 dollars and works perfect. I made a base out of 2x4s so the white spout would clear the tent and run out into a tub. Whenever I water them, I just slide a tub underneath the white pvc pipe and let the water drain. Then just dump the water into the yard or down the drain whenever your finished.

I just hand water using a pitcher and a cup.
